  • A truly gorgeous game, with a lot of fun details. But a bit complicated and expensive.
Everything about this game is beautiful. They didn't skimp on the cards or any of the many kinds of pieces (and it shows in the price). This makes it an excellent gift for game-lovers, especially those that have been to several U.S. national parks in the past. The game is more complicated that many games you may be used to, and there more rules to learn than something like Settlers of Catan or Scrabble. But once you get the hang of it, it's rewarding to travel around, taking photos and scoring points, trying to get to certain parks before your opponent is able to. I wouldn't recommend this to a person who doesn't enjoy new board games, no matter how much they like parks. But for a gamer looking for something elegant and beautiful, I'd recommend it. ... show more

  • Beautiful and fun
This is a nice cosy game. Not too difficult to pick up the rules, but engaging enough for board game enthusiasts. I was SUPER impressed by how the components and box inserts were designed. The insert was thoughtfully designed to organize and store all the pieces in the smallest box. It's a small detail, but as someone who has dozens of board games, you really notice when a lot of thought has gone into a product. I also appreciate that the tokens are wood or metal instead of cardboard (there are still some cardboard components, but the majority are not). It gives the game a quality feel. I wish more boardgame designers paid attention to these details as they make the whole experience of the game more enjoyable. ... show more

  • Makes a great gift
Fell in love with the idea of a national parks game, gave it as a gift, but have not been invited to play so I can’t really review it in detail.

  • Very fun!
Fun strategy game, with a good amount of chance thrown in. Still fun even if you don’t win. We learned about national parks we didn’t know existed! And the little tokens (e.g. trees, a variety of animals for “wild” tokens) are so cute! There are a lot of pieces, and the box is well organized with a place for everything. ... show more

  • Amazing game, and beautiful pieces!
This game is SO fun, and fairly easy to learn if you’re familiar with other modern board games. It’s also amazingly well done — the pieces and cards are gorgeous and high quality, and the boxing of the game is spectacular. It’s so well done compared to other popular board games!

  • Great game for a small number of players!
I got this game because I was looking for two player games for me and my husband. It took a couple of rereads of the directions to understand it, but once we did, we were in love! My husband loves this game. We dislike games where you have to come up with words or descriptions things. This is a strategy game and a great one at that. It takes just the right amount of time. It's not over quickly but it's not dragging on all night either. We will be getting the expansion soon. ... show more

  • worth the memory

  • Very enjoyable game
Highly recommended. Best for 3 or fewer people. More players really draws out the game. Expansion pack helps for that. Also, there is a solo mode! Well designed overall.
