I had high expectations, but the solar panel did not charge my auto battery enough to get the "green light" indicating my battery was charged; always blue in the sun and red charging lights after two days+ Instructions are scant and useless. UPDATE 2 to 4 stars: Although the product sent did not work for me. The company offered a replacement or a full refund. Many bad reviews from people who are trying to use this to charge a dead battery. That isn't what this is for at all. It is to keep a good battery charged up. I use it on my RV battery that is permanently stored and used in a remote area. The battery stays charged up, and I tested the unit and even on cloudy days it provides some charge. This does not provided enough juice to charge a fully dead battery in a reasonable time, although I believe it would over several days if the battery was just drained and not done for.... Fully draining batteries is very, very bad for longevity. If your RV is completely off grid it won't be enough for daily use continuously. Would likely work great for a weekender if your smart about usage. If you want to keep your boat, truck, RV, jet ski, ATV, etc battery charged while it sits for a week or more between uses this is great. ... show more

    • Stopped working after 2 months (Or so I thought) [UPDATED REVIEW]

Original Review: At first I really liked the panel, I have a Bluetooth adapter that reads battery voltage and I could see the charge go up if I sat there for a few seconds. I was checking voltage regularly (every 2 or 3 days) to make sure it was keeping my battery at the properly charged, which it was. So when I finally decided to trust this and not be checking it so often, it stops working. Now I have a dead battery and will have to pay to have it replaced. Not happy. Updated Review: Let me start by saying that the reason my battery drained was not this solar panel's fault. Turns out the Hands-Free Link module in my car had gone bad and was draining the battery even when the car was off. Once that was found to be the issue, thanks to a friend that has the same car I do and coincidentally started having the same battery drain issue too, he told me what was causing and how to get to it to unplug it to test if my HFL module was draining the battery. After the HFL module was unplugged I then though to take this solar panel out from storage and check, I had not used it since I labeled it as "bad" but never got to throw it away since I thought it did put out some power just not enough for my car. Well now I can say that my car can sit indefinitely, the battery will not die anymore and has not gone bellow 12.3 volts even after 3 weeks of the car not being used. ... show more

As mentioned in other reviews, the leads are backwards - red goes to ground and black to positive. I resoldered mine to fix the issue, but it should have been correct when purchased. The panel works great for keeping a seldom driven car’s battery charged.

Car I purchased it for displayed "short circuit" would not work. worked fine on old truck. Battery leads poorly designed, unhook and have exposed hot lead on plug connection Not all lighters are hot when car turned off. Had to use alligator clips.
