This produces smooth mashed potatoes, and isn't too big for use in a fairly small pot directly in the pot. I would have prefered silicone, so tried one of the continuous curve ones first. But that one made very lumpy potatoes. Some people have complained about difficulty cleaning, but compared to my old metal potato masher (for which I needed to use a bowl) this was a breeze to clean.     • This OXO Good Grips Nylon Fork is strong!

In our house we are making different types of meals all the time! I found this fork to be sturdy enough to hold three to four pieces of bacon at once during the flip to the other side without falling off. It is great for placing french toast from the batter to the pan. I've even used it to take a small roast out of the oven to the plate without having the roast fall to the floor! A great safety feature is it has a long enough handle assuring that you don't get burned on the edge of the pan or griddle. I wouldn't leave it on the edge of the pan during any cooking process. It is heat resistant but the material is Nylon. I've bought three of these forks in total so far and gave two away as gifts! They love them as well so why don't you give this great fork a try - you won't be disappointed! ... show more

This is the same size and shape as the older slotted version but is made of a stiffer plastic. Its not near as flexible and feels like it may snap. It also feels more brittle and a little thinner. If I had seen it in store, I probably wouldn’t have bought it. I did however make a grilled cheese with it and it seemed to do fine … until the cheese melted. It’s terrible to try to clean mid cooking. Everything sticks in the holes. I also ordered a different Turner called: OXO Good Grips Silicone Everyday Flexible Turner in the event that I didn’t like this one. It hasn’t arrived yet but may be a better solution. I have been very happy with this tool. I was a little skeptical as my old pasta fork had tighter fingers, these are splayed out more. They work very well though.
