I think this item is worth trying to see if it works for your needs. I installed it yesterday. They don’t make one in the size that I need so it’s a little too big therefore a little loose on my skylight. It still seems to get the job done. The suction cups are just okay, they seem to work fine if you never move them again. Also, if you try to move the cover at all then the double sided tape that comes with it completely rips apart the fabric. So make sure you know exactly how to place it before you do it bc it can’t be moved again. ... show more

We tried a few different versions of this product from a few other manufacturers, and this was the only one we didn't return. The included suction cups don't work (I tried, did the hot water trick, etc... they were still garbage), but I ended up using a stick-on velcro to attach it to the window frame of our rental home. It blocks out most of the light (and "most" is only because I ordered a size that's the tiniest bit too small for our oddly-sized windows), and was easy enough to install. I especially like that one side is reflective, which helps with keeping the room cool. We ordered one to try it out and have already ordered others for the remaining bedroom windows.
