  • Works great. No heat spreader included as shown in picture
Size: 32GB Style: 4 x 8GB
Worked great for my Mac Pro (early 2009) flashed to 5,1. Easy to install. Did not come with the heat spreader as it shows in the pictures. Only reason for 4 stars. Picture is just somewhat misleading in that regard.

  • Item is mis-labeled
Size: 32GB Style: 8 x 4GB
Item says: "OWC 32.0GB (8 x 4GB) PC8500 DDR3 ECC 1066 MHz 240 pin DIMM Memory Upgrade Kit for 2009 Mac Pro" Item ACTUALLY is 4 x 8GB. Other then that works great.

  • Forestalling The Inevitable...
Size: 16GB Style: 2 x 8GB
Using an older Mac Pro (Late 2009) that is both getting long in the tooth yet has plenty of life left, upgrading the RAM a bit is what's needed when using Photoshop and RAM-sucking extensions. The additional 16GB (total of 32) helps with latency inherent with large files -- files that are up to 1.3GB when scanning large format film. Not blazing speed but I don't have to shell out +/- 2K for a newer Mac Pro or 5K for a new one. Yet. ... show more

  • Working great
Size: 8GB Style: 1 x 8GB
Works great. Sadly it didn't work in the motherboard I purchased it for. After installing it and it not working I found out my mobo only accepts up to 4GB in each slot. Luckily I had another computer that had 2 4GB sticks in it. I just swapped them and all is well. Don't be like me y'all. Make sure your motherboard can accept the size you're ordering. ... show more

  • Fantastic Upgrade!
Size: 32GB Style: 4 x 8GB
Wow okay. So I upgraded my mid 2010 or 1w can't remember now mac and I only had 3 gigs total. The upgrade to 32 gigs is gigantic!!! I noticed a huge difference in export and upload times. Also I was very happy with the plug and play capability with my mac :)

  • As long as it works, there's nothing to add
Size: 16GB Style: 4 x 4GB
I bought this memory to help boost the speed of a 2009 Mac Pro. Installation was easy. Mac Pro isn't running any faster, unfortunately, but that has everything to do with the fact that it's an overpriced clunker and nothing to do with the memory. Why anyone would buy a Mac is beyond me. I inherited this crap box and have been trying to get it up to speed with my PC. Enought ranting. You need memory? You can't go wrong with OWC. ... show more

  • Saved me from buying a new computer
Size: 16GB Style: 4 x 4GB
I upgraded my Early 2009 Mac Pro to the new Maverick OS and it slowed down my computer so badly that I almost replaced it thinking the 2009 model wasn't fast enough for today's technologies. I installed the 16GB of RAM and now my computer is lightening fast. I am a photographer often running Photoshop, Lightroom and Indesign among other programs at the same time and my computer now handles it with no problems. I highly recommended upgrading your RAM first before buying a new computer. ... show more
