The breaker on our oven/stove top has gone out completely, and due to a couple of other, more serious issues cropping up at the same time, we won't be able to get it fixed for a few months. So, after a few weeks of "roughing it" with instant pot meals only, we decided to get a dedicated cooktop. And I wish we had ordered it as soon as the breaker went out, because this thing is fantastic! Works extremely well and does exactly what you would want a cooktop to do - cook lol. As others have stated, it's got a little plastic smell to it when you initially use it, but by the second use it was gone for us. It's also not as quick to heat as I was expecting it to be from the reviews, but I think that ultimately depends on what youre used to cooking on. For us, it's a little slow compared to our stove, but we have friends with comparable stoves to ours that lag far behind this cooktop in terms of heating speed. Regardless though, it's speed isn't too bad at all and very easy to get used to after a few uses! Especially for the price!!! The cast iron plates that transfer the heat do stay hot for a lot longer than glass or the traditional wire heating elements, so be aware of that after cooking! Usually takes about 20 minutes or so to cool to a safe touching temp from full high heat! However, imo it's the perfect trade off to not be able to drop food into the burner while cooking lol. All in all, a great cooktop! It feels great to able to properly cook in my own home again. If you have a similar situation to us, or just need a decent cooktop for travel or camping, I can't reccommend this cooktop enough! ... show more

This hot plate is an excellent deal. The price I paid was really good at the time I bought it. I love the ceramic burners, how much heat it puts out and the fact that there are two burners. I needed to have more burners while I was doing some canning. I had my regular stove full of my pressure canning pots and needed more space to do water bath canning. The bigger burner gets hot enough to can with the water bath. I was able to heat up water in a small pot on the smaller burner at the same time. It was crowded but I was able to do it. CAUTION! Due to the ceramic, the burners stay hot for a very long time so BE CAREFUL when done cooking. ... show more

I purchased this to cut on gas cost from stove which we don't use anymore. It sits perfectly on main stove. We already saw a difference in light bill, although the " fees" out cost any actual use of gas usage. As for this stove top, it's very nice looking, two sides which function & heats fast slow for boiling like 2-5 minutes. It does have a slight smoky scent sometimes but doesn't last long maybe 1-2 minutes. It's cast iron but upon a few uses the top left appears to show wear already ( coating). It's easy to clean up but you have to be careful to do so after appliance "cools" down because it stays hot. I usually turn off about 5 minutes before I am done cooking as it stays hot & I allow it to finish off my cooking like that. In cleaning: the button grade numbers on left side faded already so I have to figure the heat seating ( about a month after). It has heat settings and (dots) to keep as warmer. I like the size for pots resting on both sides. Just be careful what & how you clean so that you don't over scrub it and don't realize the imprinted number can fade with use. We don't cook all the time but works fine, can be stored, thick cord it's saving us money on light bill, the gas stove was costly but only be used for like turkey and larger baking for holidays. Arrived fine, but you need to learn to get familiar with the grading on heating, once you know your good to go. ... show more

Works well, turns off if you turn the dial all the way low on the side with the dots. It does take some time to get the pan hot maybe 5-10 minutes and takes about that long to make water boil. The top is like cast iron, don't leave any water on it or it'll rust and don't clean it with water. If you end up getting rust on it just pour some coca cola and take a brush to scrub that off the pat dry with a towel. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Needed a stove top as our landlord refuses to fix our stove. I already have an air fryer that doubles as an oven. We just needed a stove top. We bought this one b/c of the reviews & the price. It was delivered today (June 10, 2024) so I can't speak on the longevity of it but as far as its capabilities, well it's great! We made spaghetti & meat sauce on it. We started by boiling water on the larger burner & cooking ground beef on the smaller one. The temperature is accurate, it heats up evenly & quickly. It's small enough to fit on any counter & move wherever you need it. It looks great! It did give off that "new appliance smell" when we first fired it up, but it dissipated within 5 mins so not an issue at all. I'm in love with it. No surprise, but just in case you're wondering, the casing does get hot, so be careful. Not extremely hot but hot enough to be mindful of. You probably won't burn yourself if you accidentally touch the side but for an honest review, you must include everything. For people who need a stove top, it's great. Especially if you don't have a lot of room or need something portable. I seriously highly recommend this product, especially considering the price! Def worth it! PS.... if the durability is an issue, I'll update my review. But so far, it seems strong enough & it's def scratch RESISTANT. ... show more

Wasn’t as sturdy as expected, but gets the job done. Also came missing a screw, and the temp numbers wipe off easily, so you don’t know what temperature you’re cooking on.

We bought this because we are doing a kitchen remodel and needed a place to still be able to cook. This little thing is amazing! I cook on it everyday. In the morning I use a cast iron pan the same size as the large burner to cook my eggs. For lunch, grilled cheese in the cast iron pan. For dinner it’s hot enough to boil water in a decent amount of time as long as you start with hot water from the tap for pasta. I can make popcorn in it in my popcorn pan. It’s such a blessing to still be able to cook even though we have no kitchen. This thing is the best, and it works off of a regular outlet. I can run the microwave and the hot plate, and a TV and Xbox on the same circuit. That’s the max though. Beyond that the breaker will trip. Happy cooking! ... show more
