  • Great Fire Pit
Size: 15inch
I was camping with a good friend when he showed me a brand name 15" fire pit stove that I completely loved, so when I came back from camping, I did my homework. I wanted to get one this size to throw in the basement of my motorhome so I could have a fire anywhere. I compared specs of the brand-named fire pit to others and found that this one offered the most bang for the buck. Here is what I think about it: PROS: - It works EXACTLY like the brand-name version that costs 4 times as much!! My friend was astounded when I invited him to my backyard and broke out my fire pit, then told him the price I paid. - The ash pan actually works BETTER than the brand name version. This ash pan has a convenient center ring to pull the entire assembly up...the brand name version has an actual pan that has to be lifted from the side. Getting fingers in the tiny side gap between the ash pan and the fire pit can be tricky and certainly is dirty. The center ring works much better. - The design dissipates the heat quite well, just like the brand name version. Relatively smoke-free. The key to any of these being, 'smoke-free', is to use dry wood, keep the wood below the air holes at the top, and make sure there is space for free air around your wood. Any of these, 'smoke-free', designed stoves operate using these same basic principles. If you buy one of these and don't follow those rules, you'll get smoke and you won't be happy. I would use the term, 'smoke-reducing', rather than, 'smoke-free', but that is me. - It comes with a small carry bag and an appropriately-sized fire poker tool. CONS: - It doesn't come with a ring to elevate it off of a wood deck or other flammable surface. The branded version comes with a 4-inch elevation ring that gets it up off of deck surfaces. The fix is to place it on something non-flammable, like the ground, concrete, stone blocks, tile, etc. - It doesn't come with the branded logo. If you're one of those people who is so concerned with labels and logos, then this isn't for you...pay 4 times more and get the logo. The fix is to grow up and stop trying to impress people with labels and logos. Bottom line: this is a great small-sized fire pit that is perfect for 4-6 people to gather around and not have to worry about being smothered with smoke. The price can't be beat and the money saved can pay for quite a bit of beverages to enjoy with your fire. ... show more

  • Amazing value
Size: 15.3 inch
Used this on the deck with my son last week. We used pellets about up to the full line (3-4 inches high). The fire burned high and hot for about hour, it really puts out the heat. It is hypnotic watching the flame burn through the double wall and dance around. Roasted a few hot dogs and marshmallows. After the flame died down, the coals burned for another 30 minutes or so. It was still very hot. When I cook on it, it will be over the coals, not the raging fire. A couple of things of note - The bottom doesn't start out hot, but when the fire dies down a bit, it gets very hot. Make sure there are bricks or cement under this. 2. - When attempting to take off the fire ring with the poker to swap to the grill, the ring stuck to the fire pit housing because it expands in the heat. So the entire top half of the stove was now leaning at a steep angle, which could be dangerous. I put on some oven mitts and made it straight again, but just something to be aware of. Awesome portable fire pit for $50! Solid... ... show more

  • Good lower cost fire pit
Size: 19.5 inch
No firepit will ever be totally smokeless, and this one is the same. Smokes a lot at startup until you get the fire hot enough to actually start the second burn process. I wish I would have bought the bigger version as cutting your wood down to the size needed to fit below the top lip in this pit to reduce smoke is not very convenient. Works okay for small gatherings I guess but will get a bigger one for normal use. ... show more

  • Smoke Less Not Smoke None - Loved It!
Size: 15.3 inch
It was fun to use while camping. The cut wood that you buy at grocery stores will fit inside. Yes. There will be some smoke, but not as bad as an open fire pit. It's super portable and easy to assemble and take down. I wish they included a proper carrying case instead of a cheapy cloth cover. (I have to make one now.) It's heavy duty and well made. It does cool fast once you disassemble it and remove the heat source so you can pack it up. (I'm making some prongs for the holes so I can take it apart to get it cool for packing.) Do Not let your buddies throw trash in it to burn, like used paper plates. Someone threw a package with an aluminum lining and it got so hot it melted and made one of the bottom holes bigger. No biggy, but I need to grind the offending metal out now. Do NOT throw water to extinguish the fire, it will warp the metal and might not fit together for transporting. This is a great buy with the coupon. I have the bigger Solo Stove Bonfire. It's great for the backyard, but too big to transport for camping. Have Fun Mokos. ... show more

  • Definitely worthwhile purchase.
Size: 19.5 inch
The media could not be loaded. If you're in the market for a smokeless firepit but don't want to dive in deep with the cost of the big name, this is perfect. Great for both regular fire wood and wood pellets. Wood burns hot and leaves very little if any chunks, turning most everything to fine ash which is caught by the tray. In my experience, Pellets take a bit more to get going but once you have a hot bed of coals, adding pellets really brings this fire pit into its element with the secondary burn on full display which is when you really see where the "smokeless" title is earned. ... show more
