I was so impressed by the price and quality of this. As of 3 outings, it performs perfectly. None of these fire pits are smoke free, but it's amazing how little smoke it makes once it gets going. A bonus is that the pellet fuel adapter from that OTHER more expensive brand also works in this!!

It is a great fireplace once it gets hot it is almost smokeless.The only thing against it is once you use it the ash pan warps and cannot be removed not that big of a deal because you can empty the can but still would be better if i could empty just the tray

I looked a number of options and read a lot of reviews, brand name units included. Decided to roll the dice on this one. We threw some landscaping rock around it (leaving room for airflow) and it works better than I ever expected. Well worth the price (90USD) especially compared to the brand name that costs more than 2X for a similar size. It looks good too. It is made very well and was made of considerably heavier steel than I figured it would be. It comes with a heavy wire "tool" to help move logs and lift the bottom plate out. Also, the bottom plate has a large eyelet which makes getting a hold of it MUCH easier. A buddy has the name brand version, that particular one (similar size) does not have the eyelet feature. If you're on the fence, go for it, unless you just gotta have the brand name...(which is also made in china) ... show more

We love this fire pit! It is efficient with wood, offering a hot burn while omitting the smoke! It does burn quickly so if you have lots of wood, this is the unit for you! The design just works so well! We see the flame, feel the heat, yet the base is cold for placing it on any surface. Easy to clean, but it does tarnish with your first burn. Very low smoke. I recommend dry hardwood. It is a very efficient wood burner. It puts off a lot of heat and light for the amount of wood burned.

This fire pit is amazing. Easy lighting and its internal airflow let's the wood burn down to ashes. If that was not good enough, it also emits very little smoke. I was worried that, based on the low price there might be a lower level of quality. But this is built as well as ones I looked at that cost more than three times the price.
