    • Excellent outdoor camera for a very reasonable price
I bought this camera about a year ago and it has worked really well. I use it w a 128GB mem card and it stores several days of motion-detected videos in a pretty busy areas without any issues. The video is clear and even at night it is better than a Ring camera I also own. If I had to cost it a point anywhere it would be the app, which while very good, doesn't have the ability to skip forward / backwards 10 or 15 seconds or something like that. It makes trying to narrow down when something happened a bit tedious. (i.e. say I wanted to know when someone knocked on the door and I know its between 1pm - 3pm, it could take a while depending on number of motion triggers to find that moment) You can increase replay speed but sometimes you miss things if speed is 8x or 16x. But besides that one small inconvenience, it is a really good camera and the price can't be beat. So why am I writing this review a year after I bought it? Because it stopped working and right before I was going to buy another one, I figured I'd see if it was under warranty.. didn't really hope for much since the camera was only like $40 or so but not only was it under warranty, I put in the ticket Friday night and was getting emails from their support by Saturday morning.. really excellent support. SO I give this camera 5/5 stars due to value / money and the way this company backs their product. ... show more

    • I install Cams at offices and homes via BizACT in Silicon Valley, and I am impressed.
I (engineer) just finished running most of the initial tests on this camera and I am impressed. Well done Reolink! Please know that even though BizACT installs these cameras, I am not paid or get any benefit from writing this review. I was simply so impressed with Reolink's accomplishment on this camera, I thought it deserved a free $225 evaluation/review, which is what it costs for me to do a evaluation and review of 1 cam, since it takes about 2 to 3 hours. * Camera packaging is good. * Camera quality build is good. * I am surprised there is no external antenna, and have concerns it may have wifi distance difficulties, and I have not tested signal reception yet. * The pic quality is very good. * FINALLY, a proper motion detection in this price range. The motion response is prompt, and accurate. The motion zone squares are small so you can define areas accurately. * It even has a feature that allows you to black out an area for privacy; especially useful if used in a bedroom as an example or if the recording of the content of a video monitor (like passwords typed) not wanted. * The mic sound pickup is okay, but it definitely needs to be improved by Reolink, but I was satisfied for the range considered. * The Siren sound is not super loud, even at the maximum setting. Suggests better/stronger speaker is needed. * The one feature I would have really like this cam to have is some kind of AI without payment, or freely given Human-only detection. * The app install went well. * The adding of Wifi went well. * Taking snap shots and video recordings WITHOUT A MEMORY CARD and without cloud service was pleasing; kept on phone's memory. * Its flood light works well. * Night vision is very good. * The UI (User Interface; the App) is designed well for usage. * It's power cord is long enough to go through any thickness/hole lengths. * It is a BIG problem not being able to set the Siren volume sound before the siren is enabled, since after you turn the siren on, and increase the volume and turn the siren off, then you need to turn it on again to reduce the volume, and volume adjustment response is poor, but it is just a momentary inconvenience. * I have not tried the memory card usage yet to see if there are any issues with retention or access of data, but judging by it's software and hardware design so far, I do not expect any problems. * Also, the mount design is done brilliantly. I have not mounted it, but I can tell, it provides the ease of usage and movement needed. * It automatically turns on the flood lights upon motion detection. * One thing that MIGHT become a problem once installed/tested outside is that it HAS NO OVERHEAD COVER protection for rain and sun. So, I may end up seeing water droplets on the cam lens distort images. * To Reolink, if you want to add additional software features, I suggest adding ability to save data onto a local server (via NAS, or FTP, etc.), and Human-Detection-only setting. In summary, what really sets this camera apart from others in this price range and higher is its well done motion detection and motion control, and picture quality for both day and night, and truly usable flood light, and a well done UI. ... show more

Another honest product review from the Reviewer! I own 4 of these Reolink Lumus 1080P HD Outdoor Security Cameras with Spotlight. Theses cameras have Plug-in WiFi for a Home Security System, PIR Motion Detection, Two-Way Talk and Siren Alarm, Waterproof, Cloud/Micro SD Card Storage. OK, now a little more detail on the camera's actual performance. The camera lens and picture quality is very good. The two-way audio is just fair. It is not load or clear enough for me and I rarely use it. The camera's automatic switching from daylight mode to night mode is flawless. The camera's support up to 128 GB micro-SD cards. There is a built in siren and for me it could be louder. The built in spotlight works very well and does light up the area if turned on when motion is detected. The wifi range could be better. These cameras do not have external antennas so the cameras can only be so far away from the wifi source. I suggest before you permanently mount the camera you make sure the camera can operate from that location. The camera operates only off of 2.4 GHZ. It has pre-motion recording which starts recording 4 seconds before motion is detected so you can see an event from beginning to end. The camera just plugs into a regular outlet for non-stop power and continuous protection. The camera has Color Night Vision when the spotlight is on at night. If the spotlight is not on the picture at night is black and white until the light comes on. Rain, Snow or Sun does not seem to bother the camera. Overall, for the money these are very good little cameras. I have reached out to Reolink pointing out some areas where I think the camera can be approved upon. So, if you don't want to spend a lot of money on security camera but want an overall good plug-in camera this camera should be considered. Overall build quality, performance and value I give these camera's a 4 rating. I hope this helps! ... show more

We use this in an outdoor animal pen. We specifically wanted a camera where we could watch a live stream, and also have the option to just check in on and off. The camera been operating continuously for several months without any problems, through rain (it's under an overhang), sun, and temps up to 111F. It's working great. We are building an extension to the pen and we plan to buy a second camera to monitor that pen. ... show more
