I bought this a couple weeks ago and while I did like the REFLECTIVE heat it put out it wasn't great for warming a 15' x 20' area real well. I was OK with that as I do have a wood-stove on my glassed in deck and I was just wanting this for the mornings. It worked fine until we had some freezing nights outside where it got down to 25 degrees F. outside and 45 in on the deck. Then it wouldn't work unless I brought it in the house, coddled it, talked nice to it and let it warm up. Now I could take it back out and it would work fine. While Amazon was great, understanding and replaced it immediately, the temps didn't get down below 40 F. outside and 55 F. on the deck for the next few nights. The heater worked fine those days till we had another freezing night. I went out and turned the new one on and had the same problem. I'm going to return this and try a different brand. Hopefully that will take care of the problem ... show more

This is a great heater - with one minor glitch. It tends to be finicky when it’s cold out. Given that it’s rated for outdoor use, it’s surprising that it doesn’t like to start up when it’s cold But it does eventually get itself together and it’s made my deck a *much* nicer winter space

Temperature is warm but doesn't have a fan on it. The heat doesn't cover a big enough space. You have to sit in front of it to feel the heat.

Was excited to sit outside with my daughter while she played, but the heater emitted little heat and seemed a bit wobbly. I had visions of it falling on her, so we didn’t use it for long. Will try again when there are two adults to watch the child and the heater, but definitely not what I was expecting ... show more

Works great for an infrared heater. Unfortunately at or below 35deg outside the unit won’t heat up. You need wait for temperature to go up or take heater inside for 3-5 minutes to warm up and then turn back on and it will heat up. You then need to turn off unplug and carefully move back outside and it will work if it doesn’t cool off again. Not ideal for an outdoor heater! Not recommended for areas that will be at or below freezing when turning on. ... show more
