I like this heater, it's really solid feeling and puts out good heat. I have a habit of cooling down space heaters before shutting them off but this heater does it automatically! It has a 30 second cool down whenever it shuts off whether from the thermostat or timer or the power switch. That should help it last longer since residual heat can damage the coils and sensors. The overall build quality seems really good and the heat output is quite adequate. The only criticism I have is the lack of a tip over switch. I'm surprised they spent all that effort building in so many features and couldn't include one of the most common and basic safety features.     • An Arizonan's first space heater...
You may not expect it, but it gets COLD at night in central Arizona during the winter. Maybe it's just cold for those of us who are used to 110º summers, but I'm chilly when I sit on my patio at night, is the point. I ordered this space heater since it said it could be used outdoors. I do not need one indoors in Arizona, my house is plenty warm even without running the heater. But my fiancée and I are smokers, so we spend a lot of time on the patio, regardless of the weather. When I was opening the package, I was reminded of reviews that say this does not have tip protection. The box says it does. Hm. The manual doesn't mention it in the safety features, though. Only one way to find out. We tipped it over on our concrete patio and it did not shut off, so so much for the features listed on the box. It's lightweight but it's not super easy to tip over, based on my experimental bonks. The description mentions multiple times that this oscillates - I don't know if maybe some pieces on the inside are oscillating, but the main unit does not, and I wish it did, because you basically have to be directly in front of this thing to feel any heat when you're outdoors. It does warm up quickly and is effective if it's pointing directly at you, but this is a one-person patio warmer. My fiancée and I are going to have to take turns using it, because even if we set it a couple of feet away in the hopes that it would warm up the general vicinity, you're only going to feel it it's pointed directly at you, which is disappointing for an allegedly outdoor unit. I like the remote. I was hoping this would work like my patio fan does during the summer - I normally have that plugged into an outdoor smart outlet and can turn it on and off with my voice using Google Home. This works to turn it off, which is nice, but if you want to turn it on you're going to have to use the remote - powering on the outlet makes the unit light up, but does not turn on the last heating function you left it on. I'm a bit disappointed that we can't heat up two people sitting a couple of feet apart with this thing. It's nice for whoever gets to have it pointed at them, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for something more robust, or something that actually does oscillate. ... show more

Arrived tightly boxed in a box. Its easy to use even before reading the enclosed instructions. We are using this to keep a 4 x 8 foot pump house warm. It heats quickly and efficiently. The thermostatic control works as it should. It is stable although if someone was worried about it tipping you could put a brick on it as a tipping deterrent. The media could not be loaded. Much effort was made to add features to this heater, and not enough effort was put into making it safe. It's a teetering little, light weight thing that slides around on hard floors due to the lack of rubber feet. It's top heavy, and the base is small. A Chihuahua could knock it over. If it tips without your knowledge, better run for the fire extinguisher -- it has no tip over shut off protection. The handle and LED display/control unit are plastic. So is the front grill. The unit I received has some sort of stringy adhesive residue where the plastic and metal parts meet. The heating element is radiator style with numerous metal fins which act as a heat exchanger. The spaces between the fins are narrow. They will clog with dust and dirt, reducing the hot air flow. The unit uses 1500 watts of electricity and produces the same amount of heat as any other 1500 watt heater. This is the type of heater that would worry me. It's a throw away. I was going to give it two stars. However, the instructions explicitly say to use this heater only when it is placed on the floor. The product listing then shows multiple photos and a video with this product being used on tabletops and even a nightstand. I'm surprised there were no photos of the heater sitting on the edge of a bathtub filled with water. Take a hard pass on this one. No value heater is worth the possiblity of a devastating accident or fire. ... show more
