Bought the mt2 and mt3 dead centers. Mt2 is fine but the mt3 has alot of porosity in the brazed joint. They were cheap so wasnt expecting a whole lot. Will see how long they hold up. Update. Having purchased and broken the tip a second one of these I'll be staying away from this product in the future. A dead center should last longer than a few uses.     • Brass filler to fix manufacturing defects... And out of concentricity.

It's .0076 out of concentricity, which is useless. AND there is a nice brass braze filler right on the taper head, which will obviously not hold up to any working material turned with it. Hard pass, stay far away!!! This is clearly a purchase of bad stock, reworked and sold as if it's actually usable. You might get lucky, but I sure as hell didn't. I was at first terrified that my spindle taper was out, and oh that took a while to check... Spend the extra 30-40 bucks and get one that isn't problematic. ... show more
