I have very fine, virgin, hair. But I have a lot of it! And this shampoo/conditioner: Ouai for fine hair has brought my hair back to life. I am in my mid 40's and my hair was looking flat and boring. Oaui doesn't weigh my hair down, it feels silky smooth, a little goes a long way; despite having a LOT of hair, I'm able to use less product AND with better results than other higher end shampoo/conditioner products I've used in the past. And the scent is fabulous!! Even 2 days post-wash, my hair smells amazing! And I'm not having to use any dry shampoo because it doesn't cause buildup and my hair is less oily than it was with other products. If you're on the fence, debating on spending the money, going down the rabbit hole of reading every review and comparing to every review of other products in the same price range (like I do before purchasing anything) just hit that add to cart and submit order button. I am certain this will be your holy grail of shampoo/conditioner like it now is for me. (For reference, before Ouai, I was dedicated to Joico. Joico no more!)

I like the way this shampoo and conditioner makes my hair feel. It feels very clean, yet soft and not weighed down. However, the fragrance is VERY strong. When I first smelled it, it smelled very luxurious and I liked it. However, I did not realize how strong the fragrance would be in my hair after I rinsed it out, put product in it, and blow dried it. The fragrance is still very strong on my dried/styled hair. For most shampoos and conditioners, the smell fades away after you dry your hair, but not this one. It is honestly making me a little bit self conscious because of how strong the fragrance still is and I'm pretty sure people can smell it when I walk by them or when they are near me. I work in healthcare, and generally you are not supposed to wear any strong perfumes or fragrances due to some patients being sensitive to fragrances. I worry that when I'm meeting with patients, they can smell it and some people may not like it. Some people get headaches or migraines due to perfumes/fragrances. In the future, I think I will only use this shampoo/conditioner when I am not working. Such a bummer!

This is the second time I’ve bought this shampoo and conditioner—after the first set ran out, I wasted so much money on other less expensive brands, with far inferior results, that I should have just gone ahead and bought these again! You only need a very small amount, maybe a nickel size for my chin length bob; the first set I bought lasted 6 months using it about 3 times a week. So enough about the cost. I have fine, frizzy to wavy hair. On my best days I am a 2b, and I tried for many years to be a curly girl before finally giving up. I started looking for a product that was gentle (I color my hair, so need to be careful) and that would not weigh me down, and after reading the reviews here I decided to give this a shot. It has been a game changer. I have seen people complain about the scent; I actually like it a lot but that’s a very personal preference. It’s a woody, ambery scent that reminds me of Juliette Has a Gun. The shampoo gets my hair clean without leaving it feeling stripped, and the conditioner is light and rinses out well, leaving no residue. My hair blows out bouncy, smooth, and shiny. I won’t bother trying another product again in the future.

I got the shampoo and conditioner for fine hair. I gave this 5 stars because it leaves your hair looking and feeling spectacular. You also don't need very much, even for longer hair, so it lasts a long time. You will not have to worry about frizz or looking greasy. But it's weird! It reminded me of childhood for some reason. After the second use I figured it out. My dad used Zest for soap and shampoo and shaving cream when I was growing up. This smells like Zest!! So, it's super high end with quality. But...Zest? Haha! But your hair will look amazing.

3.5 Stars I’ve been using this set for a few weeks now. Here’s the overview: Smell: Not amazing. Smells like laundry detergent or dryer sheets and is really strong, especially the first time. After the first day where it was smell-able all day (I think mostly just by myself, no one else commented), I supposed my receptors got used to it and I don’t notice it overly anymore. I had MUCH higher hopes for the scent because I had been using the anti-frizz crème for a while and the scent of that is lovely. It was the reason I decided to try this set. I normally use Kerastase which always has beautiful scents, but I’m looking for a more affordable replacement. Lather: Excellent. You don’t need a ton of product to get it all worked up and into the roots. Same with the conditioner, it’s concentrated and thick, makes it easy to work out tangles. The amount I need of both is about equal— very important! Other thoughts: 1. My hair seems to be happy with this brand. It feels healthy and the growth is apparent. 2. The cap is tilt style. Normally this would mean capable to open with one hand, but these caps are super stiff so I have to use two. I’m worried something is going to break eventually. Note to product designers: one-handed dispensing is invaluable with all hair and facial products!! Some of the luxury lines are the worst culprits of this oversight. TLDR: If smell is super important, check out a trial size of this if you can first. Bottle might give you issues. Wash and hair quality is great.
