I bought these products on the advice of my daughter. It definitely cleans the hair and even though it’s not a leave-in conditioner, I leave some on my hair. I have medium length, thinning gray hair that is colored. It is frizzy with a lot of broken ends. By leaving some conditioner on my hair, it looks and behaves better. I do like the way these two products make my hair FEEL, but don't care for the way they make it SMELL. I've used the Melrose shower gel and like that a lot, and was hoping this was similar. However, while it does smell a bit like it, it also has a very heavy, sharp, overly musky, almost chemical smell undertone to it that I find unpleasant. I would just order the Melrose but that's specifically says it's for fine hair, which mine is not.
