I've replaced this type of support on other hoods, trunks and storage covers. These were very easy to install. They came with a spare set of end-connectors with a ~45degree tilt, which my car required. Just screw the straight ones off and screw on the angled ones. These come packaged compressed, so you need a utility knife to cut the plastic wrap and a cutter to cut the plastic retainer strap. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to release the retainer clip on the old ones and the new ones snap right on. 10 minutes, max, start to finish. Worked on my Acura MDX 2006. Was a little hard to compress to put in place, but that just means they hold a good amount of weight. Comes with the U shape clamps to hold in place so can just throw everything from the old ones away.
