Bought this on a whim when I was browsing one day. We use a LOT of garlic in our house. I cheat and use the chopped kind in the jar in a pinch. But let's be honest, it ain't the same. For full delightful effect ya gotta use fresh. And anything that makes that easy is gold in my book. Well-designed, a snap to clean, and takes up very little space. Come to think of it, this is so darn cute I think I might keep it out. At the end of a hard workday, everyone could use something that makes them smile while prepping dinner! It's does what it's supposed to do, but it's a little hard to get all of the garlic out because of the teeth. I just swooshed a little water in it. It is cute, though, and easier than mincing by hand for me.

minces ginger and garlic in a few seconds... much faster and easier than using a grater or knife. A little effort needed to get it out of the vampire. I have a tiny spatula that I use to get it all out. If you don't mind a little waste, if you give it a good knock against a bowl most comes out with that. Not dishwasher safe which is why I gave it four stars on easy to clean. Actually I think it is fine in the dishwasher, except that the head is hollow and water got stuck in it through miniscule opening under the hair and was hard to get out. I drilled a hole in the head so it can go in the dishwasher and the water will drain out. ... show more

It is really cute but it really doesn't do a great job. There were a lot of garlic stuck in it. It has to be hand washed and I don't feel it is really clean
