I had asked my doctor about getting an operation, and she said it might not be a permanent solution and that she would suggest I get a hernia belt from Amazon. I am so glad I followed her advice. Before this, I had the choice of putting up with a rather visible protrusion under my shirt, or cinching my belly tightly with a leather belt, which was not very effective, and very uncomfortable. The Umbilical Hernia belt is comfortable, to the point I sometimes forget I'm wearing it. The silicon compression pad is ingenius, and helps to depress the bulge beautifully. This my 3rd time ordering. The 1st time the quality and wear was great and very happy. The 2nd the quality wasn't the same but good enough to wear. But it started to curl after a few months and no way the keep it straight. But I liked the product so I ordered the 3rd. time. The quality is just not there it don't even look like the same product. But I will ware it for now. But in the mean time I will look for another product maker. ... show more

    • These were good, but they changed. Don’t bother buying.

I purchased one of these belts a few months ago and it was fantastic… the belt was comfortable to wear and allowed me to go about my day in comfort without hurting myself or aggravating my hernia, a real game changer for me. However, after a few months of daily use it was time to get a new one. When the new one arrived it quickly became apparent that the quality has changed. I exchanged the new one I just bought and bought a second one just in case, but all three of the new ones will not stay fastened. The Velcro on the belts now is crap and barely holds. The slightest movement makes them slip or come undone, and the stitching holding the Velcro on rips out easily. And if you get at all sweaty, just forget about it, the Velcro won’t hold even if you aren’t moving. I’m really sad to be writing this review as the first belt was so outstanding. ... show more

This binder works by stretching it around your waist and using the velcro at one end to hold that end to the other part of the binder. The velcro holds poorly and sometimes comes apart when inhaling. I have 3 other binders (different colors, same company) and they work well.
