I have applied this product twice so far this fall and so far the result is great. My lawn is greening up nicely, growing evenly, and is filling out more each day. The new seed I have applied is also germinating well. I have applied this only to my front lawn, and I notice a significant difference in turf quality between my front and back lawn. Wanted to try this to help fill in the bare spots in my lawn. After about a week, have noticed that quite a bit of coverage of the bare spots, also noticed lawn to be a bit more green. Will be using this again in the future.

    • It Worked on my Fescue Lawn in NC

I applied this about 2 weeks ago and saw noticeable improvement fairly quickly. I sprayed this the first weekend in June on my turf type tall fescue. (I live in Piedmont area of NC near Charlotte). My lawn was starting to thin out and yellow in spots (not sure if it was from too much water, seeding too densely in the fall, fungus, or just the heat). The week before I applied, my lawn also received an excessive amount of rain (like a lot a lot of rain). I also sprayed a liquid fungicide at the same, because last year I had a bad case of brown patch around the same time. Anyways, almost all of my lawn greened up some. I didn't notice any boost in growth, but it did seem to help. My neighbor even commented on the deep green color of my lawn. However, I also have two areas where the grass still appears to be thinning out. It is likely just from fungus, and the grass hasn't been able to recover yet. I also use a strictly organic lawn care regimen consisting of Ringer Lawn Restore and Milorganite (Last fertilization was in March). I wouldn't say I LOVE this product, and might just go with straight liquid iron next time, but I am definitely happy with the results. It is very possible that my lawn didn't even need these nutrients because of my own lawn care practices. I like to think it helps though. Moral of the story. For context, I am relatively new at taking care of my lawn. Before I used to just mow and trim when it needed it, had never done a soil test or done any types of broadcast applications of anything except maybe a periodic application of big name fertilizer. This year I decided to dive in and actually try to make my lawn healthy and look good (not Better Homes and Gardens cover material, but just something I could feel good about). I did a soil test and it showed I was low on most of the micronutrients, in addition to my pH being too low and being generally low on my macronutrients (N-P-K) too...you get the point. I generally knew what to do for the macros and pH but had never even really new about micros for lawns. After doing some research on what I needed to do, I found this Micro Booster product to help with some of the deficiencies (note that this one doesn't get them all, but most of the important micros) and decided to give it a shot. I did a foliar application using a pump sprayer in the morning and within the day I could already see the lawn color get more blue-green (from the iron) and since then my grass (mostly turf-type tall and fine fescue) has definitely seemed much happier (even without the other fixes having been done yet). After I work on the pH and macros too, I plan to do some additional testing and applications of this in the fall and next spring as needed. In terms of ease of use, the Micro Booster was not hard at all. The instructions were pretty clear for both a hose end and pump sprayer application, although some considerations on watering-in or not would be helpful on the label (I see the manufacturer addressed this in another buyer's question so that was very helpful). The other suggestion I would have is to make this and other products available in either larger sizes, or more concentrated formulas. I have a relatively small lawn now (~1700 sqft) and currently get ~2 applications out of a bottle which is fine for now. However I plan to expand my lawn in the next few years, and know many people have bigger lawns to cover than I do, so having to buy multiple bottles for a single application on a larger lawn seems a little unnecessary. I provide this feedback to the company and was very happy to get a quick and enthusiastic response saying that they are currently looking into this for several of their products. ... show more
