I'd tried a few others because they were just easier to use. This one is the 'old fashioned' way to sharpen a chain - and it's really not that hard at all and the results are just amazing! I just hope the files hold out!

Handy little chainsaw kit to pack with you when you're out and about. I learned how to sharpen my own chains using this kit and some YouTube videos. I take this with me anytime I take my saw out. My only real complaint is that some of the tools are annoyingly hard to snap back into their holding pockets.     • Hoped to sharpen like the pro's
After using a bolt on jig sharpener (which works well) I decided to see how professional loggers and arborists sharpen their chains . The jigs and round carbide cutters worked well but i wanted to try a faster and hopefully better way and so far can't get the wood chips (to come out while cutting a log) to come out in the long shaped shavings like a new chain ,but with more practice can achieve this ... show more
