I am not an expert in lubricants but I do care about the planet. This chain lubricant is not made from fossil fuels. It is plant based and therefore is a step, an admittedly tiny step for one person, to slow global warming. It will take many tiny steps by many people as we move away from petroleum products to more modern and far better and more responsible alternatives.
