  • Great for the price
I can't complain; they work really well, and if you drop them in the water and lose them, it's not break your heart like a Husky.

  • Seems great so far
Paired this saw with a Tsumura 24'' bar and Oregon LGX chain. Initial starting was in about 35F weather, so I turned both adjusters out about a quarter turn before trying to start and gave it a squirt of premix from a bottle. Started immediately, but died. Coughed on choke on second pull and started with no choke on third pull (I consider this very good for what its worth). Tuning was spot on without adjustment; it four stroked on free rev and cleaned up in the cut. Drop starting is easy with or without use of the decompression button and the saw restarts easily when hot (one pull the 3-4 times I tried). For break in, I am using the recommended 25:1 mix, which surprisingly didn't smoke much at all (I use Golden Spectro for oil, have been using it in my MX bike since the 1990's and run it in everything I own). Mixing bottle that comes with it was confusing to me, since I've never seen one like it before, but I really liked it once I figured it out. Basically, the wide side has a 0.5L and 1L (i.e. 10) marking) The smaller container on the side has 25:1, 30:1, 40:1, and 50:1 markings for both 0.5L and 1L on various sides. Just fill the small container with oil to 5 or 10, depending on if you put 1/2 or 1L into the large part, on the side that matches your desired ratio. After that, tilt the container back and forth and shake until all oil is washed from the small container/mixed. I like that I can make small batches (e.g. single tank batches - I don't like to let premix sit more than a few weeks) accurately and that all oil is completely mixed (as opposed to measuring, then some oil is stuck to cup). Regarding the saw's performance, I come from 38cc-55cc consumer saws (i.e. 38cc Earthquake/Poulan Wild Thing with 18'' bars, a 50cc Poulan Pro with a 20'' bar, Husqvarna Rancher 455 (55cc) w/20'' bar, etc.), so can't say that it performs as well as the real 372XP, but it sounds very mean and is the most powerful saw I've ever cut with by far. The chips are huge and a sight to behold coming off of the giant "mudflap" that sits right behind and under the drive sprocket. It will absolutely handle anything around me (I'm in Southern NH) and is really probably overkill for the few cords a year I cut/cleanup of a 2 acre lot and helping my dad with a summer place/his 10 acres. I will say that it is quite a bit heavier than my other saws and I will probably still use those saws for limbing and light use, just due to the extra weight. No issues with the saw failing to hold a tune, leaking oil, or anything like that so far. Also, muffler does not have a catalytic converter element and is otherwise pretty wide open (most of my saws I've had to cut the muffler open and remove that junk then weld it all back together to get them to perform OK). The carburetor on mine also did not have the limiters that prevent adjustment. I tend to 'fix' these issues as soon as I get a new piece of equipment, so was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need to on this one! Really happy with my purchase so far! ... show more

  • These saws are junk. Don't buy it
I don't like this product because I got 2 of the same saw at diffrent times within a year. And 1 saw broke in 6 months and the 2nd saw broke after 2 hours of using it. Holtzforma is not a reliable saw. I will not buy another one ever. I buy another saw I'm buying a husqvarna because they are better made and way more reliable. Husqvarna saws last 25 to 30 years not junk in 6 months or 2 hours. ... show more

  • One year review of Holzfforma 372
Purchased this machine in April 2024. Nearly a year on, I have used it enough to provide some insights. First off, I paid $235.00 for this saw, which I believe is a fair value for what you get. The saw was very well packaged and arrived with no damage. I am a casual chainsaw user and used the saw approximately 20 times throughout the spring and summer of 2024. Fit and finish is not nearly as good as my genuine Husqvarna saws, but I expected that. I noticed one of the bolts for the exhaust bracket had a stripped head (which caused me some grief later on, so stay tuned and I will explain). I put a bar and chain on the machine (24 inch, .063 Oregon) and added fuel and bar chain oil. The saw started right up and ran OK. After letting the rings settle in, I used the saw to clear some downed hardwood. The saw performed decently, but the stock carburetor required frequent adjustments. After a fair amount of fiddling around with the carburetor, I finally got it running pretty well, but had to run it pretty lean to get decent performance (some foreshadowing here....) Through the fall and into the early winter of 2024 I used the saw periodically with no issues. The owners manual instructs to run a 25:1 fuel to oil mixture, however, I ran 40:1 with no apparent problems. In December 2024, I used the saw to buck a large white oak that had fallen down on my property. I only had 50:1 fuel on hand, so that is what I used. I ran the saw very hard for approximately 45 minutes to buck the tree and near the end of task, the saw quit. A compression test disclosed that the saw had very low compression - approximately 30 pounds and would not start or run. Curious as to what happened , I took the saw apart, removed the cylinder and discovered that the exhaust side of the cylinder and piston had heated up and both the cylinder and piston had become scored. As previously stated, I had to run the saw pretty lean to get decent performance, so I was not entirely surprised that this happened using 50:1. Anyways, I decided to repair the saw. I ordered a stock cylinder and piston kit here on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GDFVKG7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title). The aforementioned stripped exhaust bracket bolt was a total pain to remove - had to use a Dremel to cut back the bracket so I could get a channel lock on the bolt head to loosen it..... Once I got the bolt removed I was able to get the tope end off. I installed the kit and swapped out the crappy stock carburetor and installed a Hipa carburetor and put everything back together. The saw started right up and ran very well. I allowed the rings to settle in and then cleaned up some downed oak and ash on my property using the saw with 40:1 mix. Saw now runs awesome, nearly as well as my genuine Husqvarna 372. I attribute most of the improvement in performance to the Hipa carburetor. In my opinion the stock carburetor that came on my saw was inferior and I should have changed it out once I discovered how lean I had to run it with the stock carburetor to obtain decent performance. It is still early on with the new cylinder/piston/Hipa carburetor, but I am hopeful...... So, here are my takeaways for any of you considering this saw: 1. You get what you pay for, but with the right carburetor, this saw is running very well for me. 2. My use of the saw is periodic and I have serious doubts as to whether it would hold up under daily use. 3. The quality of the component parts and various bolts is not great, but they have held up to the casual use to which I have subjected the saw. 4. The fuel and bar oil caps leak unless you put them on very tight, and even then they leak a bit. 5. The oil pump as worked well, but after shut down, continues to leak oil for awhile. 6. If you are not afraid to work on a saw if something goes wrong, you can get decent homeowner use out of this saw for a fraction of the price of a genuine 372. 7. Don't run this saw like a banshee like I did with 50:1 fuel and a lean carburetor adjustment or you will be installing a top end kit like I did (but that was sort of fun to be honest). 8. Don't blame me if you buy this saw and don't like it. 9. Thank you China for making this larger clone Husky saw available for a small amount of $$. ... show more

  • Great bang for the buck
Have always been a name brand guy and always used husqvarna, after one older one gave out and couldn’t find a comparable saw for a reasonable price decided to give this a try a bit heavier than the 55 I was used to but not much and quite a bit more power, have had it about a year now and no issues with occasional use mostly for firewood and the occasional tree that needs to be cut up. Use good ethanol free gas and a quality two stroke mix, keep bar oil in it and should be good from what I’ve seen and heard of these clone saws ... show more
