1/4-inch drip fittings press into the inside of 1/4-inch drip tubing and are held firmly in place by a barb. They come in a variety of shapes, including tees, elbows, couplings, and plugs, which allows them to satisfy the needs of many different garden layouts and container sizes. This drip irrigation part is alternative to the kits and brand sold at Lowe’s and it’s a fraction of Lowe’s pricing. We started with the Lowe’s kit and after deciding to convert our 30’x120’ garden to drip to provide better irrigation and save water, we needed a more affordable solution. We bought 1/4” and 1/2” tubing on Amazon, drippers, and all the 1/4” & 1/2” couplings and fittings. We installed 300 drippers on 6 zones in the garden. 100 drippers on 2 zones in the front landscaping. The 1/4” polyethylene line on Amazon is a little tougher to slide over fittings, but 3 seconds under a heat gun it slides over easily (don’t go more than 3 sec). 50 drippers is about the max that can function on a traditional garden hose bib. We run each zone for about 30 min daily here in Florida (we haven’t had rain in a while and soil drains quickly). We were running sprinklers for much longer and the plants still weren’t getting enough water. A few days on drippers was quite a noticeable difference. Buying all the parts on Amazon saved us 1/2 or more on the project. ... show more

If you are trying to connect a 1/4" irrigation tube into the side of a 1/2" irrigation tube, then these work really well. Very easy to insert. I've tried some similar connectors that come in the 1/4" irrigation tube accessory packs and these are by far easier to insert into the 1/2" tube. Leakage seems very minor; I have yet to see any major drips or loss of pressure. One thing to watch out for is blowing out the back of the 1/2" tube, due to the point on these connectors. I haven't had that problem yet but it's definitely left a mark on the back a few times. ... show more

The Orbit Connector embeds in both drip hose and main water flow tubing securely. Recommend using tool available (Home Depot or other) to enact puncture of water flow tube to allow entry and and tight fit for connector.

These are good couplers from a well-know brand at a pretty good price. They secure two 1/4" tubes well with now leakage. Depending on the tubing it can be a bit hard to insert them. However, the tab in the middle is wide enough that you can use pliers to hold one side and then push the tubing on, on the other side. It makes the installation a lot easier. ... show more
