Over the last 20 years I have fully used 2 of these batteries so on average lasted 10 years each. I just installed the 3rd one. The battery arrived almost fully charged and only took 15 - 20 minutes to top off at 2 amps on AGM setting. Less then 30 minute job, battery fully installed and charged. Works on Hummer H3 just drill holes on the top of the plastic battery cover to expose the terminal posts. Trim the little plastic fins at the bottom of box. Fits perfectly after that. No need for custom tie downs.

I ordered this battery (34/78 Red Top) for use in my '66 Ford Bronco. I needed a battery with more ooomph than a standard battery. The battery was extremely well packaged for shipment. There was more than enough protection to prevent the battery from being damaged. The battery was charged up. It comes with a top plate, though I did not need it for my application. The price on the battery was excellent, though it's likely due to a couple of considerations. First, the battery is covered by a warranty. However, it's going to be more complicated to handle it than if you purchase it from a local dealer. Warranty on the battery involves shipping and waiting. That is not likely a good option for someone using their vehicle on a daily basis. On a part-time vehicle, that won't be a problem. And then there is the hassle of disposing of the failed battery which you are replacing. So plan on a trip to your local hazardous waste recycling facility. Or at least to a nearby auto parts dealer - hoping they will just take it off of your hands. After installation, my Bronco started right up. It's been a couple of months now, and no problems or hiccups. But with all batteries, the real test is time. I am hoping to get several years of service out of this battery. Shipping was faster than they indicated, though not 2-day Prime. Overall, a good purchase on an accurately described item. Note: The price of the battery varies considerably. Been a user of Optima red top batteries for years.Bought this battery on Amazon Jan 21 2023 Battery is dead always maintained on an optima battery charger Must have really dropped in quality I have same battery bought in 2016 still going same scenario always maintained. I would say don’t waste your money cannot get any warranty resolution to date To be fair Amazon/Optima have honored the replacement warranty I appreciate the service I hope the Optima brand is still a quality product Just hard to believe I have a 2016Optima red top going strong while the 2023 didn’t last Will update review according to battery performance ... show more

I used optima batteries in my boat for trolling motor and another for cranking, lasted 11 years ! Therefore I bought for my truck and they don’t last much more than a year ! I’m about done with optima batteries due to the fact they don’t last like they used to !

Does not fit in a 2005 Ford Ranger, conracted company and they said there are no kits to make it fit either so amazon is incorrect on their compatibility. Either way, nothing a bungee cord wont fix. Hope it last as long as my old Red Top of 14+ years
