Easy to mount. Springs are a little weak but seem to work ok for now. Strap was installed incorrectly, so I had to unwind it and reroute it to sit properly. Works well , though.

The cable doesn't wind up very well and is too long for its purpose so I had to cut it down. It was also missing the hardware to bolt it to my boat trailer and the the holes were spaced differently than the standard winches I've used in the past so I had to drill holes to make it work. It passed the use test the first time the other day but definitely not as user friendly as a strap winch, which was a bit more expensive...but now I see the prices dropped days after I bought it so that both are now cheaper than what I paid for it less than a week ago...that's sort of shady but hope this product lasts. ... show more

I replaced the old winch on my boat trailer, and this seems like a very good product. It was easy to install with the hardware I had from the other winch, but as advertised did not include the hardware to attach it to the boat trailer. The only complaint I have, which is not really a complaint, is that the handle for the winch ends up on the starboard side of the boat. It is as if the configuration is off 180 degrees. It was not a problem, I just had to drill one new hole in my boat trailer for one of the 2 bolts that secure it to the trailer. ... show more
