I bought this for my OLD Brinkman Pro Series 2600 4 burner Gas grill with a side burner. The ignitor I had was the exact same dimensions - - the only difference between the 2 ignitors was my old ignitor had 3 plugs and this new ignitor has 4 plug ports. so I used 3 of the 4 available ports on the new ignitor. I did not use the include ignition wires - no need. I tested the ignitor and it worked perfectly after I installed the 1 AA battery. My old ignitor had a rubber push button surface, this one has a solid plastic surface I think, which I hope will last twice as long. I've had my brinkman grill for 20 years. This will be my 3rd ignitor - both previous ignitors had the rubber push button. I see this as an upgrade that I hope will last longer than the 2 previous ignitors. I got this grill igniter button to replace a broken rubber one that stuck when it was pressed. This is much more sturdy than the rubber button, and it has good tactile feedback. It's very clear when the igniter is initiated, and it seems like it will last a long time.

True confessions time... I don't actually have a Home Depot Nexgrill. Instead, I used this product to amp up the ignition on my natural gas smoker. The smoker came with one of those red pushbutton piezo igniters which never worked very well and was getting gummed up with grease from drippings on it as I removed smoked meat from the smoker. This igniter has a sealed button which will prevent it from getting stuck like my old one, and it upgrades from a single piezo spark to rapid-fire electronic ignition. I used all 5 igniter tips for one single burner, and now it lights up immediately, every time, without any fuss. YAY! For some reason, this kit includes 6 igniter tips as the product photos show, even though the igniter module only has 5 terminals. I'm not sure why they toss in the 6th one, but I was grateful to have it because I accidentally burned up the cable on one of them (in the path of the burner flame) during my beta test. That led me to redesign the whole layout of the igniter tips and the final design worked out great! If you have a problem with the factory igniter on your Nexgrill, this should work great as a replacement. Or if you want to make a science project out of it instead, it will work great for that, too, as I found. One thing to note: you MUST connect an igniter tip to each of the terminals on the back of the module... otherwise the sparks will arc from one empty terminal to another and reduce the power at the tips you did connect. ... show more
