Before buying this set I read in another review that these pieces have good weight to them, and I thought that was an odd assessment of silverware. After purchasing them, I actually understand what that person meant. They feel good in your hands, not too heavy, not too light.     • Oneida Brand Continues to Create Quality Utensils
Oneida continues to manufacture quality spoons, forks, and knives. I purchased a larger set of Oneida silverware about 15 years ago that had about two or three times as many pieces of utensils as this set. Over the years my original silverware set has reduced in number, most likely from children accidentally throwing out the forks or spoons. I was in need of some replacement silverware, and this new set fills in great. My original Oneida silverware has slightly different shaped handles than this new set, but they still work well together. They came with SO MANY! they are also pretty thick and heavy utensils and they've lasted a long time nothing has rusted or anything.

    • Simple and elegant
I have been looking for a new set of silverware that look nice while having a simple design and these are exactly what I was looking for. This is a really durable set. Each piece has a bit of weight to it without being too bottom heavy. These are great quality and 100% worth it.

    • Bulky and don't feel nice in the hand
I've always loved Oneida, have several of their sets at home. But for me, this one really missed the mark. The handles are so large and bulky, it's really not pleasant to hold in my hand. The edges are slightly curved under, so if you're really gripping the utensil, it'll leave a mark on your fingers for a while. In the end, I couldn't get over how not good they felt in my hand. Also, running them through the dishwasher left water spots all over, real pain in the rear to have to clean utensils that just came out of the dishwasher. ... show more

    • Elegantly simple, yet high quality.
This isn't the most ornate style of flatware, the design is quite simple, you might even say elegant, but they definitely don't feel "cheap." Each piece has a nice weight to it, and feels balanced, definitely an upgrade to the aging set I picked up at Big Lots two decades ago.. I mean, it's Oneida brand, they know what they are doing. One thing I look out for with a new set of flatware is the depth of the spoon. If it's too deep, it can be hard to get down to the bottom of the spoon without being uncomfortable on the lips. High quality flatware is underrated! Use flatware that has good weight, balance, and finish and you will never want to use anything less! I certainly have taken my old flatware and put it in storage since getting this set. This Oneida flatware set is perfect in so many ways. It has a substantial feel without being too light or too heavy. Each piece is well balanced so even though it is substantial, it doesn't feel cumbersome to manipulate. The shape and design of each piece is simple yet classic with a mirror chrome finish. The construction is great; each piece is smooth all around (well, except for the cutting edge of the knife, obviously) without any unfinished edges. The product includes enough for four complete table sets, with each set including a dinner knife, salad fork, dinner fork, teaspoon, and soup spoon. I have not put them through a dishwasher as I handwash my dishes, but they have held up well so far. ... show more
