  • Do not buy
Size: On Stage Maple 2B Wood Drumsticks 12 Pairs
These sticks are cheap for a reason. They are junk. I don’t know what kind of wood they’re made of, but it’s very soft and don’t last. Also, they have a very dull sound when using the ride cymbal. Don’t waste your time and money on these sticks.

  • UPDATE: Half the pairs broke during one show
Size: On Stage Maple 5A Wood Drumsticks 12 Pairs
UPDATE: Now I understand the other posts. I took the box with me to a show and broke literally through half the pairs during one show. In a way, this isn't a cheaper option. They won't last a lot of shows and regular good sticks a pair would cost you around $10. Better off going with some quality pieces. But for practice, they're fine. Been drumming for over a decade, and these definitely are fine for the price. They are thick but feel very light, therefore if you have no control and bang sticks, this isn't for you. They lasted me a month but I only play a few hours a day and a few times a week. Also the first ten years of playing, I would bang my sticks unnecessarily but I've mastered my control throughout the years, so they've lasted me some time. Might buy again. ... show more

  • Very surprised after reading the other reviews!
Size: On Stage Maple 5B Wood Drumsticks 12 Pairs
While these sticks are "budget cheap" sticks, I have to say they exceeded my expectations by a long shot! They are real light as others have said, but I really didn't have the issues with them breaking like many others have stated. I'd consider myself a medium power player. I don't bash my drums. All I can think is these people must not play with any dynamics what so ever if they are breaking as fast as they claim!!! I maybe had a stick or two out of 24 that I thought could of lasted a bit longer, but for their weight and price- they're great! Though they are no vic firths, or other sticks that run 8 to 16 dollars a pair, they are a steal for the price! You just can't compare these in that kind of league! That's like buying a pinto and complaining it's not as good as a corvette!!! Lol.... if your a "basher", then maybe spend a few more bucks and go the more sturdy route. I think an average attack drummer who likes lighter sticks will be surprised! I am reviewing the wood tips by the way! The last "budget" plastic tips I bought, I can't say the same about! The tips shot off before the sticks had a chance to break! Anyways, these ones have been surprising for me personally! They've held up through a few 4-hour gigs already and I haven't went through but a couple pair! ... show more

  • Great value
Size: On Stage Maple 7A Wood Drumsticks 12 Pairs
These are awful sticks. But don't get me wrong, depending on your situation, these might be worth it. I tend to break a pair of these in about a week or two. For reference, it takes me a month or two to break a pair of Vic Firth 7A's with the amount I play. 12 pairs of vic firths cost around 100$, but 12 of these are far cheaper. If you do the math, you get more out of your money with these. But take into account that half-broken or chipped sticks don't sound nice. Don't go into a performance with these because they degrade and chip very quickly. All in all, they make good practice sticks. ... show more

  • Chinese drumsticks. What is the world coming to?!
Size: On Stage Maple 7A Wood Drumsticks 12 Pairs
I thought I'd take a chance on a bulk order of 7A drumsticks. I have bought the bundle bag before at The Guitar Center and most of those sticks had a fairly severe warp/bend to them - so I hoped for better from these sticks. I eagerly tore into my Amazon package and was stopped dead in my tracks. The sticks were wrapped in a seemingly titanium-reinforced shrink wrap that took me for freaking ever to puncture. Once the nuclear-bomb-proof plastic wrap had been removed I could actually see the sticks and, viola! The sticks were straight! I spent a little bit of time rejoicing over that fact and then got myself together and inspected the new sticks a bit closer. They were packaged, quite nicely, two to a set in a stylish, heavy paperboard sleeve. The sticks fit quite snugly in the sleeve and I had to coax them out with a few cuss words, threats directed towards their mother, and some body English. After extracting them from their snug sleeve, I held them up and gave them a good once over. They felt a bit light, almost sort of hollow. The balance was good, though, and they felt good in my hands. I then inspected the tip of the stick and found it was a bit odd looking, and was not tapered well; it was rather fat. Yes, I just used the "f" word describing the tip of the stick. I have tile counters in my kitchen and ran through a few double stroke rolls, paradiddles, and some eighth notes. The sticks sounded a bit hollow against the tiles; not at all the heavy sound I was expecting from, say, a Vic Firth. I gave them a skeptical glance out of the corner of my eye, snorted suspiciously, but figured I'd give them a shot. So, I tossed them in my drumstick bag and headed off to practice. Once at practice I slathered them up real good with pine tar (it keeps the sticks from sliding out of my hands - and it smells like, well, like pine trees. Just make sure the pine tar doesn't extend beyond the label on the stick - or you might get tossed out of the band) and commenced my warm up. So far so good... But not so fast!! After running through 4 songs in practice and then playing three of them live, the fatso tip of my right hand (ride cymbal) stick had pretty much totally turned into splinters (I am Groot) - and they were all over the drum set! It was snowing drum stick splinters - which might have been cool if we were playing, say, "White Christmas" but were weren't. So it wasn't! On a side note: I hate it when wood splinters get stuck between the drum head and the rim... I'm not sure what kind of exotic, soft-maple these sticks are made out of but, whatever it is, it isn't hard enough to stand up to a beating against a Zildjian 22" ping ride. Meh. If you don't play very hard these sticks might hold up for you (exactly how hard can you play with a 7A anyway??). I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I could do better by going outside and pulling a branch down off the maple tree in my backyard - I'd just have to clean off the smaller branches and leaves. On second thought, maybe I'll leave them on - I could go for the "Treebeard" look. I'm figuring on going through a pair of these sticks every time I play - which is not a great value - but at least I'll have a good pile of kindling to get the wood stove fired up with this winter. I'd suggest taking your chances with the grab bag at The Guitar Center. The nice thing about the warped, bendy sticks is that you can play your drums from around the corner. PS. These sticks are made of "selected" maple - it says so right on the stick. Weird, I thought maybe they were made of "unselected" maple... ... show more

  • Great for bucket drumming, not for regular percussion as much
Size: On Stage Maple 5B Wood Drumsticks 12 Pairs
I bought these sticks because I needed a lot for my middle school bucket drumming club. I would not purchase these sticks for higher level concert percussion students, but for something like bucket drumming, they work great. I wrapped them with electrical tape to help prevent splintering, and this has worked pretty well. I am noticing that the tips are starting to break off. Overall, for the price per stick, I am very pleased. I've purchased about 100 pairs of these same sticks to be able to provide a pair to each student doing the bucket drumming unit during Covid, and would order these again if needed. ... show more
