  • Title: Omega Potassium Alum Stick: Small But Mighty (Watch Out for Sensitive Skin!)
So, you know how they say good things come in small packages? Well, they must have been talking about the Omega Potassium Alum Stick because let me tell you, this thing is tiny! I mean, I was expecting something the size of an underarm deodorant, but instead, I got a stick that's shorter than my pinky finger. Talk about a surprise twist! See my attached photo next to a Rockwell 6C. But don't let its pint-sized stature fool you; this little alum stick packs a punch. According to my pals (who apparently have the same tiny stick), it's a durable little guy that can last for over two years without showing much wear and tear. Plus, its compact size means it won't hog precious real estate in your dopp kit, making it the perfect travel companion for your globetrotting adventures. Now, onto the nitty-gritty: does it actually work? Well, it's an alum stick, folks. It's not exactly rocket science. Swipe it on your skin after shaving, and voila! No more razor burn or irritation. It's as simple as that. However, I must issue a word of caution: if you're like me and have skin as sensitive as a delicate flower, you might want to proceed with caution. Turns out, I may have a slight allergy to alum, as evidenced by the persistent itchy rash that plagued me after each use. But hey, that's on me, not the product. So, in conclusion, if you're blessed with skin that's tougher than a rhino's hide, then go ahead and give the Omega Potassium Alum Stick a whirl. It's small, it's mighty, and it gets the job done. Just be sure to listen to your skin, folks. It's the only one you've got. Razor in photo: Rockwell 6C Col. MULLY ... show more

  • Repeat buyer
Easy to apply and easy to store. Does the job. I will be buying this product again.

  • Works pretty well
Helps to seal nicks (does not do so completely), and drastically reduces post-shave irritation caused by sweating. The latter reason is why I got this, and there it succeeds. It fails to stop ALL shave-induced bleeders, but so do styptic pencils. The alum does it with less burning and no white caked material on the face. I strongly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Good Little Alum Block
I wanted an alum block that didn't require me to directly pick up and hold the block itself each time I wanted to use it. I wanted a block that was encased with a handle of some kind. This one fit the bill perfectly for a decent price. These sticks will last forever. At least a year, maybe 2. After each shave, wet your face and apply this across your whole face and neck. It will kill any "weepers" or other problem areas by disinfecting them and stopping the bleeding. Although it's not as effective as a styptic pencil for stopping bleeding. In my experience a styptic is only needed if you are crappy at shaving and really cut yourself good. After you apply it you might feel some stinging. This stinging means you shaved too close in those areas. So these blocks are good for refining your technique or finding your "problem areas." Fun Fact: These blocks can be used as an unscented deodorant. It has the same active ingredient as deodorant (but doesn't leave any white goopy residue like a standard deodorant). ... show more

  • Made in China, not in Italy
So far seems like a good product. However, I think the advertising was deceptive in making me think that it was made in Italy. I was very disappointed and felt duped when I received this alum stick and realized that it is actully made in China. False advertising plain and simple!

  • great value
i just realized ive been using this alum stick for almost 3 years now so i figured it was time to write a review. so like i said ive been using the same stick for about 3 years as part of my aftershave routine so the value for the money is great. it tightens up the skin and helps relieve irritation. for me the easiest way to use it is to wet my face and wet the stick then rub it on my face, some people leave it on but i rinse it off or it irritates my skin. it does work as an antiseptic for minor cuts too, just keep rubbing the (small)cut till it stops bleeding, doesn't take long. some people use this as an aftershave all on its own, that definitely works but i like to follow-up with an aftershave balm or splash. oh and be warned, if you haven't heard already, when you rub this on irritated skin it stings, the worse the irritation the more it stings. ... show more
