It's over priced but worth it, if that makes any sense. I've got this auto lens cap on two of my Olympus cameras and I LOVE it. It works great and it eliminates more hassle than I can state. I wish every camera had this option available.

I bought the Panasonic LUMIX GX-85 kit which includes the tiny 12-32mm auto focus but manual zoom with works very well, but I did find that having to remove and replace the lens cap all the time was pretty inconvenient. Yes, I know I’m just lazy, but I found this automatic lens cover that is designed for the Olympus 14-42mm EZ lens. I was another review that said it would fit the 12-32mm LUMIX, so I bought one and hoped. It works just fine and eliminates my having to remove and replace the lens cap all the time. It is fully automatic in that when you rotate the lens body from storage mode to the 12mm position the caps shutter opens immediately and you are ready to shoot. Works as intended. Increases ease of the photo taking process. One of the reasons the 14-42 EZ lens is usually on my camera rather than any of the many other Olympus lenses I have.

This lens cap has a 37mm filter thread so it fits on the Panasonic Lumix G Vario HD 12-32mm F3.5-5.6 Mega OIS lens. When you manually extend the zoom, the lens cap automatically opens and when you retract the zoom, the lens cap closes automatically.

If you have the cash to burn, this is a really convenient little attachment for your kit lens. While removing the stock lens cap isn't difficult, it does take a few seconds and leaves you holding a small and easily lost cap while you shoot. Having it automated means your camera will be more at-the-ready when you need it, and sometimes that means the difference between getting the shot and missing it. That said, this doesn't provide anywhere near the protection of the regular lens cap. It's meant for convenience while on the go, but I wouldn't use it for storing or packing the camera. It also doesn't work with other lenses, so its primary purpose is for point-and-shoot situations. The price is a little high for what it does. But it's a clever gadget that performs its function well and I'm glad I got one. ... show more

I bought the 14-42 ez lens because the 14-42 IIR lens has that stupid thing where you have to "open" the lens before use AND take off the lens cap... f that, the lens takes care of one problem and this takes care of the other just as elegantly, who needs filters anyway? Oh yeah, you can't put filters on this thing. With this added to the lens, all I need to do to be ready to shoot, is turn my camera on. That time saved is well worth the price of this elaborate lens cap. ... show more
