  • 2 year review
Size: 24,000 BTU, 230V
These are still running flawlessly after 2 years in a poorly insulated home. They provide adequate cooling and less than adequate heat. I would only use these to supplement your forced air/boiler or other heating systems unless you live in a climate with extremely mild winters. Sub-freezing temperatures are where this thing struggles. ... show more

  • Great Product
Size: 18,000 BTU, 230V
Self installed with low cost vacuum pump from Amazon. Was skeptical but I am now 1 for 1 on self, non-professional mini split installs. Works great in my totally un-insulated sun porch. Has been working for about 3months now…. Very quiet…. Would absolutely do it again if needed…

  • Broke after one year of use.
Size: 18,000 BTU, 230V
I typically don't write reviews unless it's to protect other consumers and this is one of those. Everything about the process was easy including installation and operation. The reason for the rating is the compressor on the unit went out after one year and OLMO wouldn't replace the unit. I called Olmo with hopes of help and they wouldn't even talk with me outside of telling me I needed a licensed tech for any issues. That is hundreds of dollars of loss on top of the cost you have already spent on the unit. The cost for the repair and the part was $200 less than buying a new unit outright. Good customer service and standing behind their products was all that was required to have a good rating here and unfortunately I'm now looking for a compatible outdoor unit to replace the current paperweight. Spend your money on companies that stand behind their products and don't waste it at OLMO. ... show more

  • This thing is whisper quiet!
Size: 24,000 BTU, 230V
The whole unit seems to be of decent quality, it cools my two car garage really nicely and you can barely hear it running. The controls are pretty straight forward and easy to figure out with out to much problem. Only thing I would change is the wiring instruction picture was terrible and the signal wires weren't numbered for which socket they belong to so just have to remember where you mounted each colored wire on the indoor unit and match them up, not a huge deal but just one more step you have to take. ... show more

  • Good value, quiet , save money
Size: 24,000 BTU, 230V
Good value, first one I installed 5 years ago,I have installed many this brand and no issues. Many of these are advertised that it is do it yourself installation and can be but i dont recommend purging system instead of pumping lines down and most of these are bad for leaks in linset connections..I use lock seal on fittings and line test with nitrogen to 350 lbs.. I pump down lines to -30lbs with vacuum pump. Unit is factory charged with r410a freon good for 25 feet or so of lineset length. Lineset can be shortened or added to with flare fittings etc or you can roll up if you have to. Foam lineset cover won't last long outdoors. Use a plastic cover or rubatex. I also used wall brackets for outside unit. You can use pad or block to sit on also. No warranty if you install yourself unless you are hvac certified. Very quiet , air was pretty warm at coldest I've seen down to bout 3 degrees. Most of these are identical at this quality just have different labels on them. If installed correctly and sized according will do excellent and pretty efficient even with just 15 seer models. 600 square ft per 12000 btu with decent insulated living area usually bout right for sizing. Rinse out filter once a month and set temp where you comfortable and it works great. ... show more

  • Well I got 3 years out of one.
Size: 24,000 BTU, 230V
I have 2 of the 24,000 BTU systems installed in my shop. I installed these 3 years ago. About a month ago one of the units had an issue, displaying an error code P4. Good luck finding any details about the error codes, here is a hint search for error codes from Hunter and Cooper. Anyway when I got the error code I realized my outdoor (condenser) fan was no longer blowing. I replaced the capacitor as the original one had blown out part of the plastic and had continuity. Now the fan will come on for about a minute and the compressor will not start. Replaced the fan motor next, still no go. Compressor will no longer start, refrigerant has not leaked and is not low. I believe the board is bad. Here is where buying an inexpensive unit has bit me in the butt, there is no place to purchase parts for these systems. The only way I have been able to find the two parts I did were by searching for part numbers and purchasing parts for different brand mini splits. My opinion is that for 1000 bucks the unit should have lasted for longer than 3 years. I was expecting a lifespan of about 5 years. Let's see how long the second other one lasts that I put in at the same time, it's working overtime now so who knows. ... show more
