This board is great for beginners. The board itself is plastic but surprisingly sturdy. The wheels are larger so more stable, and they light up which my kid just loves. The wheels glide so smoothly too. My daughter went from crying about how hard skateboarding is the first day to gliding along like she was on air by the end of the week.
