This is a nice, little, compact, incubator that holds 12 chicken eggs. It includes a sheet of cute baby chicken stickers that can be placed on the bowl. I think kids would love that. It has a maximum temperature of 103°F, and is able to keep that temp in my garage, without any extra insulation, where the ambient temp is currently about 50°F. The instructions say that if it is used in colder conditions, where the unit is unable to maintain proper temperature, that you can use the molded styrofoam packaging material inside the box to place over the bowl as extra insulation. That's a clever idea, and a great way to reuse the otherwise wasted packaging. So make sure to save the box and it's contents after unpacking the incubator. It also says to use the little styrofoam square as a base for the water bottle for the same purpose. I left it on, overnight, and I can confirm that the tray does rotate. It also has instructions about the different stages of the egg development process, and tips for how to incubate them. However, you should also probably do a little of your own research for more knowledge on how to hatch chicks. I'm not quite ready to hatch more chicks, so I haven't put this incubator through the whole process. I will be using it to hatch 12 eggs early this Spring, and if there is anything wrong with the process, I will come back and update this review. ... show more

Nice little affordable incubator for the kids to watch chicks hatch. Affordable for small scale use at home. seems to have accurate temp reading so far.
