Pattern Name: Extra Large
Very intimidating with all the parts and hardware, however the instructions are very good and with all the screws being of Phillips type, it’s easy to assemble. This is our second product from this company and we are still very satisfied! Good quality and the details are excellent.

  • Cute for display but not function.
Pattern Name: Extra Large
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I chose this particular coop because I thought it was cute. If I remember correctly, it said it could house 10-15 chickens. That's very much not true. We have 6 laying hens and it was too small for that many. It was deceivingly little compared to the pictures. The wood and overall build quality felt very cheap. It would not last the winter. Within a few weeks of having the coop, my niece broke the nest box lid off of one side. Last night we had a severe wind storm and despite being anchored into the ground, the entire coop was picked up and completely obliterated. It was super cute and overall kept the chickens safe during the two months we had it. ... show more

  • Overall a great set up for a small flock
Pattern Name: Extra Large
This coop is super easy to assemble and while two people would have been nice you can definitely do it alone. It took me 4 hours using just a regular philips head screw driver. The coop once together is pretty sturdy and seems that with care it will hold up well but the wood is soft. That said there were a lot of damaged and dinged up pieces in the box. I will have to fill in and paint it. The metal for the bottom interior tray is flimsy and does not sit properly in the wood so that will have to be taken care of. We will also have to seal some spots. For the cost of the coop versus lumber to build our own from scratch this is all worth it. The nesting boxes are fabulous and being able to just open the top and grab the eggs was perfect. The metal tray for clean out was great, we did add two metal handles though otherwise it would not be easy to pull out. I use contractor grade sand for their bedding and it was so easy to scoop and keep their coop super clean. This coop will definitely not house more than 6-8 chickens comfortably. The run is very small and I knew that and planned to add a fenced in area for my girls to run. If you don’t plan to free range or have an extra pen then consider keeping your flock on the smaller side. I will be buying a second coop as I could not fit all 10 of my girls in this from their current set up without being squished in. Overall I think if you know ahead of time that this is a softer wood that will have imperfections, is on the smaller side overall and you have a small flock of 6 than this will be a great coop for your backyard. ... show more

  • Its what you pay for
Pattern Name: Extra Large
Pretty easy to assemble however some of the steps I may have put in a different order. The wood is pretty cheap and flimsy. It is still being used by the chickens but is slated for replacement. The hinged roofs have both split and one side has completely split along the hinge edge and just sits on the top. the ramp has never really worked well and has cracked and split in several places. It was a good stop gap but probably not worth the cost unless you have a way of covering and protecting the coop itself with a 3 wall shed or something similar but at that point just put a door/gate up and use nesting boxes in the shed ... show more

  • overprice for being too small and the low quality of the wood.
Pattern Name: Large
First of all It's overpriced in my opinion for the quality of it. Although no missing part and a cute little thing. But, It made off a very soft wood. In a few palaces it was damaged wood that was glued together by the company. No surprised because It's easy gets damaged even by a screwdriver or a screw when it accidently slips off the hand while assembling it. So in this view point, i don't think its secured from predators. It's also very tiny with the extremely narrow chicken run. Maybe 2-3 small chickens ok but still very small. And or for very little baby chicks maybe. I did painted it in darker color because i don't think it will last long from the rain/ or sun damage without painting. Also you want to open it outside because it's smell so bad that while I was unpacking, it made me cough and felt like it burning my throat. It's doesn't smell so bad anymore after been seating outside for a few weeks now. My girls still don't like to stay inside the coop itself, but do like to be under it. I also added tile inside the coop base for easier cleaning. And bought a larger chicken run with the cover top to put over this chicken coop, and light sensors, so I will be able to keep my girls in this tiny coop over night securely, and keep it longer from the rain damage. This larger run will help the chickens to exercise and spread they wings, and where I can put their water and chicken feeder. I also bought heavy duty long ground anchors to secure it to the ground so it don't fly away when high wind or hurricane comes. It's sad though that I didn't see choices off better, and or good coops on amazon. I would not buy it again for sure. I am planning to build a better coop myself with my teenage son this summer when i have a bit more time from work. ... show more

  • Great Buy!
Pattern Name: Extra Large
We have had the coop for over a month now. It comfortably fits our 5 chickens with room for more. Easy to clean being that there are numerous access points! Purchased a solar light from Tractor Supply, it adds the perfect touch (pictured). I assembled the coop myself, took about 2.5-3hrs. Overall, super happy with the purchase and have had several family/friends purchase this and are super happy! Great buy ... show more

  • Extre6cheap and low quality
Pattern Name: Extra Large
We have had this coop for 2 months and it's falling apart. One of the windows didn't close right away, the boards that were just glued together are splitting, the tops of the nesting boxes have broken already and screws have pulled from the wood. I do NOT recommend this coop. Also is only big enough for about 8 chickens. ... show more
