  • Well built, easy to assemble
Pattern Name: AIR45
Great product!! Easy to assemble, real shingle-like material on roof, roomy and includes multiple latches. There are 4 laying areas, roasting bars and a large fenced in area. Many entry points to retrieve eggs, lock the hen house, and let chickens out to free range. Very sturdy hen house, with flexible guards to keep rain out. Removable tray to easily clean the bottom of hen house. Fencing is good for protection but is a little less sturdy when moving - will take to people to move it around the yard, to keep the fencing squared but it is not heavy. I would definitely recommend this product! We also have the pin for 2 to 3 chickens from the same company. Also extremely well-built but with a smaller caged area. ... show more

  • Overall a great set up for a small flock
Pattern Name: AIR46
This coop is super easy to assemble and while two people would have been nice you can definitely do it alone. It took me 4 hours using just a regular philips head screw driver. The coop once together is pretty sturdy and seems that with care it will hold up well but the wood is soft. That said there were a lot of damaged and dinged up pieces in the box. I will have to fill in and paint it. The metal for the bottom interior tray is flimsy and does not sit properly in the wood so that will have to be taken care of. We will also have to seal some spots. For the cost of the coop versus lumber to build our own from scratch this is all worth it. The nesting boxes are fabulous and being able to just open the top and grab the eggs was perfect. The metal tray for clean out was great, we did add two metal handles though otherwise it would not be easy to pull out. I use contractor grade sand for their bedding and it was so easy to scoop and keep their coop super clean. This coop will definitely not house more than 6-8 chickens comfortably. The run is very small and I knew that and planned to add a fenced in area for my girls to run. If you don’t plan to free range or have an extra pen then consider keeping your flock on the smaller side. I will be buying a second coop as I could not fit all 10 of my girls in this from their current set up without being squished in. Overall I think if you know ahead of time that this is a softer wood that will have imperfections, is on the smaller side overall and you have a small flock of 6 than this will be a great coop for your backyard. ... show more

  • Cheaply Made
Pattern Name: AIR45
This coop has 4 nesting boxes and has an attached run. Wherever you place it is probably going to be where you keep it permanently because it is pretty awkwardly shaped after it has been put together. The coop and run came in pieces in two separate boxes and has to be put together, however, some of the pieces came in scratched or damaged. The dividers for the nesting boxes is just a partition that you place in between some slots and doesn’t seem very sturdy; it holds up though. The latch that connects the roof to the main compartment of the coop has already broken on one side already and it has been less than two weeks since we built it; the wood that you screw the hinges into just isn’t strong enough to hold the screws in. We have only opened the roof/utilized the hinges maybe 3-5 times. It’s a great concept but the product needs to be made of thicker wood for the screws to stay in place. The run really isn’t that big and I only have 3 chickens in it currently. If you have the space for them to free roam then it’s not so bad. It’s not a covered run, so that’s unfortunate… the only shade they would get in the run is wherever shade you place them in when you put together the whole thing. Side note: You screw the run to the coop when you build it according to the instructions. The run opens up at the top from one of the middle panels as well as at the end… you can lock the panel that opens at the end however the panel that opens in the middle does not have any locking mechanism. Potentially can be opened freely by any predators. The panels on my run have shifted due to weather since being put together though and it has made it more difficult to open the top middle panel unless if you pry it open from both opposing sides. I don’t know if this makes me feel safer or not since it can still be opened, just not as easily. You would also think that the roofing design allows for the inside of the coop to stay dry, but I have noticed the inside (minus the nesting boxes) gets wets still. The roosting bars don’t allow for roosting to occur either, it’s about a 1”-2” gap from the base of the coop. Overall, this coop and run combo isn’t a good option as a permanent residence for chickens but it does work for something short term. This would probably be better for other small breeds. ... show more

  • Nice chicken coop!
Pattern Name: AIR45
Overall, great chicken coop!! Be careful when fastening the screws, the wood can split easily if your not careful. It might also need another application of a better weather treatment on the wood, but otherwise I am happy with it!
