I purchase these for a set of French Doors on the patio. These are somewhat heavy and it is recommended you get someone to assist. I ordered two of these. One of the sets did not include the instructions or mounting screws. Luckily the other set had all the parts and I had spare parts to complete the work. Instructions are pretty good. When installing it is important to be aware of where the door handle is on the left door as it may hit the frame. The instructions discuss this and there is even a plastic cutout to remove if needed. After installation these made the doors quite a bit heavier than before so you need to be careful when opening or closing as the increased weight of the door can cause it to slam shut. The blind mechanism works very smooth and offers privacy and blocks direct sun. I expect these to increase the energy efficiency slightly. They are a little pricey but overall I am pleased with the product. ... show more

Easy to install. Only complaint was that the hanging bracket was hidden in the bottom track and took a while to find. Very solid and good quality and functionality.

Now my glass front door is much more secure. The glass is pretty but offers little privacy when someone unexpected comes knocking. If someone is expected, simply raise up the whole blind or even just open the shutters. That allows the beauty of the glass to shine. Original cleaning keeps the inside glass spot free.     • Patio Door Blinds- Great item!
We had looked for a couple of years for blinds to fit a vinyl patio door adn the ODL blinds are just what we needed. Easy to install and really serve the purpose. The blinds are enclosed so the can't bang or rattle when the doors are opened or closed. Great quality.

    • ODL enclosed blind
First unit received with packing loose and the raising hook disconnected from the raising bar. Was replaced very promptly. 2nd unit hangs up about midway down when lowering-there is a groove in the raising bar that hangs up on the spring steel magnet strap that the magnet rides against. The strap is bent and catches the bar when it goes up (lowers the blinds). Unit also does not lower fully without wiggling the lowering handle. Looks like quality control in the China plant needs attention. Update: Customer service was very helpful. I was able to remove the metal bar that is part of the raising mechanism and access the bent steel strap that the magnet rides on. The bar was very easy to bend and I was able to repair the unit without any problem. The unit was a close fit on our door - I had to hang it at a slight angle to fit between the door handle and the hinge barrels. Otherwise, I would have had to cut part of the height adjustment handle off, but hanging it slightly off kilter avoided that. Works fine now. ... show more

These blinds should have been a lot better for the cost. When we received them there was hardware missing. Had to call to get new hardware. It took another 6 days to get it. When I started to install them the hardware that I received with order was not very good. The metal hangers were warped. Other hangers made the frame about 1/2 inch off the frame of the door. Had to get hardware from a hardware store to try to make it some what work. A lot of the products I get from amazon are very good, but not this one. ... show more

    • Perfect - but a little expensive
I'm taking a star off because it was so expensive ($226) and the metal mounting bracket was bent, which made the installation more difficult, but wasn't a deal breaker. Installation was pretty easy, even with the bent bracket, and it's been great so far. I actually installed this on a 'non standard' window size, but there was enough info online for me to feel pretty confident that it would work. ... show more
