  • Absolutely fun and worth the time and money.
Edition: MARVEL Powers United VR Rift + Touch B...
The oculus rift system is spectacular to play with. Coming from the Playstation VR I noticed a substantial difference in resolution and visual clarity (aka Screenndoor effect). Everything is clearer and the immersion factor feels greater in the rift. A huge selling point to me was the touch remotes that come with the system. In my personal opinion, these remotes feel natural and ergonomic. They are way better than the wands to me. But that is person opinion obviously. The library it comes with is decent, but it gets better with both the oculus store and the SteamVR platforms. Setup is fairly straight forward and only takes about 10minutes after you get the oculus software installed (that takes a little bit of time). My biggest piece of advice before purchasing this system is to run the compatibility program from the oculus website. Seriously though, you dont want to spend this coin if your PC cant handle it. Remember if you have 970m video card, it wont work well even though the specs say you need a 970. Different cards and power ratings despite having similar model numbers. All in all, this was a great buy and I have definitely enjoyed it. I cant wait to see what the next generation VR brings. ... show more

  • The oculus rift cv1 is great. A MUST BUY if you have money and love videogames as much as I do!!
Edition: MARVEL Powers United VR Rift + Touch B...
Right off the bat I loved the vr headset. It came with 2 sensors, 2 touch controllers and the headset. The vr experience itself was amazing and the games are great. I have a Oculus Rift Dk2 and the pixels on there was easily seeable, buttt on the CV1 it's literally the hardest thing to spot!! I can't see them, I tried looking for it when I was in a white room and to be honest the pixels were so hard to see that it took me around 30 sec just too find one. Once I saw the pixel I quickly unseen it like it was never there. I really wish that there were more free games on oculus sense I paid $480 and plus an extra $800 for a vr ready pc, but on the other hand the paid to play games look great and I understand why they make you pay. The strap on the headsets are easily adjustable and no need to take off the headset to do so. One thing that I was scared about was the lenses and if my bad eyesight see them as blurry or not.. turns out its clear as day! My mom uses glasses and she took them off when playing the rift it very clear for her. Some bad things: The lense glare when looking at text is a little annoying but it's fine. 2 sensors is not enough please buy 3. The lense adjustment system is alittle clunky I wish it was alot smoother. ... show more

  • Amazing!
Edition: MARVEL Powers United VR Rift + Touch B...
I've had a few HMD VR units in the past and had the idea that VR was more of a novelty thing. I also felt that an HMD is only as good as the software available. Then, I tried the Oculus Rift. Granted, I had to buy an expensive video card that was half the price of the Oculus to go with it, but it's the interactive aspect that really brings VR to life. My previous sets, one had a joystick (with no base) that you used, and the other had a circle/puck type controller. Neither gave that full immersive feeling. 20 years later and the game is definitely changing! Just going through the intro "game" is mind blowing. The controllers are super sensitive and provide so much control it's amazing. The only issue we had was getting kicked out of a game multiple times, then realized that my son was logging into his Steam account, which was kicking us out of the game because it was shared from his account. The 7 games included with the Marvel bundle will provide MANY hours of enjoyment before you even need to look in the store to purchase additional games. One level in Marvel Powers United had my arms and shoulders sore. Rec Room, although not having the best graphics, is a TON of fun. From paintball to a mini tennis style game, interaction with others online can lead to a blast. It also will put the account into 'Junior' mode for younger players that turns off audio. This is excellent, as we all know online games with audio tend to draw a toxic crowd. Robo Recall! INTENSE! Anyway, if you have any interest in the current state of VR, you will not be disappointed. If your system specs meet the recommended (not sure about minimum) requirements, just buy it! ... show more

  • When it works, it's awesome!
Edition: MARVEL Powers United VR Rift + Touch B...
Except that was not often for me. I waited the full return eligibility period to give the Rift an opportunity to work. I ordered extra cables, 3D printed internal classes, the Vive link box and a extra USB hub to try and get this to be a positive experience. I expected some troubles with the device but after constant troubleshooting every time I wanted to play, I gave up. The only consistency in my experience with the Rift was that I would have to consistently troubleshoot. In fairness to the Rift, I have read that some people do not have any problems and it just works. That was not the case for me. I ran it with a Prime 370 and GTX1060. I had no problems running the games at max settings up until the point where the software or headset crashed, which was just about every time I tried to play. It crashed in multiple games. It is a very neat experience when it works and is a lot of fun. Even with multiple people observing while one person plays. I wanted to love it, but it just got to be too frustrating for a fairly expensive device. As a final thought and personal opinion, the Marvel game was terrible and not worth consideration when picking the package. ... show more
