We have it on the back patio and it is good for breakfast and laptop work on a nice day. A cushion is advised if you'll be sitting for an hour or more.     • The definitive review--80 kilograms = 180 pounds

The 80 pound limit that so many reviewers mention is solved here. This was made in China where they use the metric system. The bolts tighten with a 14mm wrench. The weight limit should be 80 KILOGRAMS, not pounds. 80 kilos is equal to about 180 POUNDS, thus this is not unreasonable, as the set is lightweight. I weigh about 90 kilos, which equals about 200 pounds. It took me an hour and a half to put it together with the enclosed bolts. The instructions were clear enough, though a couple of photos would have helped. After you catch on to the technique (screwing a double ended bolt in and then sliding tabs over it and then adding washers and a nut), it is simple to see how it goes together. I used a regular wrench instead of the flimsy one included. DO NOT use a power driver on this, as you will over tighten and possibly snap off the bolts. The reason the instructions say not to tighten the bolts at first is because with the table, there is a round brace that goes midway up the legs and all the parts must coincide before tightening. On the chairs, the back fits over two bolts, but the clearance is narrow, and if you tighten the legs first, the back won't go on. This is just for the two legs adjacent to the back. It all went together reasonably well, with no mismatches, and plenty of bolts and washers. If you look at the picture on the box and then at the bolts and holes, you can pretty much figure it out. Don't overtighten as the bolts are iron and the table aluminum. The finish is outstanding, a natural looking bronze with highlights and the design is intricate and delicate yet cast in metal, modifying that "too cute" look. It is sturdy enough for a 200 pound man and comfortable enough for short periods of time. I put round 15" cushions on the seat bottoms and they fit perfectly, making the seat much more "sit-able." It's best not to lean back too heavily. This is not a set for slouching and it's not a set for kids, though it may look like a "doll set." It needs more careful, if not delicate, sitting. I wouldn't stand on the seat, for instance. When you sit, not all your weight is on your bottom. At 200 pounds, probably 150 pounds rests on the seat, so I'm still within the suggested weight of 80 kilos, and it doesn't appear shaky or in any danger of collapsing. It's not for rowdy guests or rambunctious kids or those seriously overweight, but it looks good, is functional and costs only $100. What more could you ask for? ... show more

Pros: Very cute and very stylish. It’s fit right in the small space perfectly. It’s a great option for ppl who are on a budget, starting out, working with small spaces, or looking for a stylish set. Assembly is simple. All pieces were included. All I needed were screwdrivers. Table and seats came with adjustments. You can simply adjust the feed at the bottom to ensure the items are leveled. Cons: It isn’t iron metal. Aluminum is a light weight metal. Therefore I can easily see that if you are over a certain. Weight, this piece isn’t for you. You will have to assemble and it took me a bit longer than I’d like. I believe this is due to me not being familiar with the set. It’s small. I’m 5’11” and I cannot sit at this piece for long periods of time. The angles are not the best. I tried setting myself up to work and I was bent over and uncomfortable for a significant portion of time. If you are shorter, this shouldn’t concern you. Overall: I would definitely recommend if you are in the market for all of the above reasons. ... show more

These have held up well for the last five years since we purchased them. We (usually) have rainy winters and dry summers here in Northern California, and I try to move the set under the patio when I know it will be raining, but I have definitely left it out in the elements for extended periods of time. We move the set around to different places in our rather large backyard a lot, and they have held up fine. HOWEVER, the set screws that connect the backrest to the seat have rusted, and some fell out as we moved the chairs from one location to another. I went to three hardware stores in town and talked to many sales associates, but I couldn't find anything that would work to replace these screws (I brought in one that had fallen out). What I ended up doing was buying M8 x 30mm set screws online with corresponding bolts, and it works perfectly!!! They go in with an allen key instead of a screwdriver like the ones that came with this set. Hopefully this saves someone some time, because it took me hours to find a proper solution!! ... show more

First, I purchased this on sale for $99 and free shipping, well below the cost of all other similar options at the time. For the cost, this looks really awesome. Relatively comfortable for outdoor metal chairs. I'll probably end up buying cushions if we use them frequently. I am concerned about the sturdiness of the chairs. I am 135 lbs and sitting carefully in the chair, I can see the legs buckling a bit. I am hoping that is just due to trying them on a slippery linoleum floor and once I place them outside I hope for better results. The assembly process instructions are devoid of photos or drawings, but it is fairly clear. I put the chairs together in 2 hours and the table in 1 hour. There's a ton of washers - flat and lock - and nuts that hold everything together. The chair backs are not super secured onto the rest of the chair, even when carefully tightened. The small center piece on the bottom of the table is really thick and I couldn't fit the lock washers on there and still get the nuts on. Also, the silver bolts holding everything together are visible at certain angles. ... show more
