For performance, I used this particular one as a top exhaust fan. I have the speeds adjusted for GPU temperature. When idle, my system temperatures have plenty of headroom, and the fans are silent. They keep everyday PC performance where it needs to be - and quietly. When gaming, I may be overshooting my speeds precautiously. Four total fans get pretty loud - within reason - at around 1,500 RPM x4. However, they definitely move air. The RGB setup for NZXT was kind of a pain - connecting to the controller box, figuring out which of the ten wires works in what direction, and then figuring out how you can cable it all. A little annoying that I had to set up both color and power for all four fans. But I understand there are limitations in engineering, etc... I would knock the app if anything. My GPU temps were well understated (62c v 84c true). Now I cannot even see the GPU temp at all, so I had to reconfigure my fan program to anything but the most important reason I want them running. I cannot find a fix on this anywhere I look. Color scheming is pretty customizable. There are also some dynamic variables (CPU temp, GPU, temp to color ranges, etc...). Where I was annoyed: if you daisy chain your color control cable, anything dependent to the first fan (or light) can only be given a different color if you change each individual LED color. This makes trial-and-error a way longer than necessary process. Overall though - I think very good. No regrets. If anyone is buying JUST the fan, I have no reason to believe anything under perfect. ... show more

I've noticed that most NZXT stuff gets returned and ends up on Amazon returns. Even the "acceptable" ones that have "Cosmetic imperfection(s) bigger than 1 inch" are brand new. All it is is some dust on the pads because they attract it. It can be wiped off in all of 1 second. Apart from the guy who returned a 120mm in a 140mm box (you know what you did to save $2... Buyers beware that the Amazon returns people who check the items can't the the difference...), I've only had great experiences. Now for the product, I bought all NZXT RGB so it syncs. Only to realize that CAM doesn't actually syncs up different products from their own brand. All fans will sync for example, but the breathing effect won't match the one from their own underglow.. It's just a slight annoyance honestly and only if you use an effect that has a rhythm to it. ... show more

I have an NZXT case with the rgb controller built in so everything installed super easily and the lighting worked really well. I bought two to replace the stock case fans as these were larger but only one fit, no big deal. Now on to the bad part, the first one died after a couple weeks. A horrible grinding sound started coming out of it and not long after it stopped spinning completely. I wasn’t worried because I had an extra so I exchanged the bad one for a new one and installed the backup. This one lasted for awhile but ultimately the same thing happened and it died less than a year after I bought it. I’m hoping that I’m just unlucky but it seems the bearings go bad quickly so buyer beware! ... show more

The rgb is slightly weaker compared to my 120mm fans even when both are at max brightness, that’s probably just because of its size, though.

    • Careful what you order & CAM IS SPYWARE!

I gave it low stars because I never got to use it. It does not work on the HUE+ That information only found in the questions and answers. My bad for not doing enough research. BUT they could have said something in the description. ALSO note CAM software is VERY buggy I started with CAM in I think 2014 or 15 and IT HAS NEVER WORKED RIGHT AND CAM IS MAJOR SPYWARE! Sign your data ALL your data rights away or you cant use it. No work around and if you do finely do get it to work it will AUTO UPDATE and KILL IT. use CAM controlled water cooling (KRAKEN) you could kill your CPU as CAM controls the fans and pump. READ the reviews on CAM before you buy! PS the fans work and look great when they work ... show more

I built a computer for my nephew, It was an NZXT case and I bought these fans for the first time. It was a nice clean built because of the cable management capabilities but also because of these fans and their ability to daisy chain them, cutting down cable runs. Another great surprise was the the Cam Software, it is pretty dam good for RGB. I can address each individual LED within the fan or in the lighting strip. I love these fans so much that that the build I am on now I will use these at least 7of these fans in a Thermal Take case. ... show more

RGB lights are amazing, NZXT cam is great (as of right now the temperature and fan control does not work with Ryzen 3000 series CPUs but they are working on that) Noise level is fine, no complaints here on that. In all my research to decide on these fans (I didn't do well I guess), I never heard or saw anything about these fans being exhaust fans. To explain further, the RGB lights face towards the intake of the fan. In other works, the air blows towards the other side of the RGB lights. This is my first time building a PC so this might just be me, but I wish I would have know before I bought these. Still going to keep because they are amazing, just have to set up my case differently than I expected. ... show more
