  • Corsair finally simplifying their ecosystem
Color: White Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
I've not been that keen on Corsair products over the years, mostly due to how much they restrict you to their ecosystem, and partly because of how complex some of it can get. In particularly, their fans in recent years have been not desirable to me as the entire process seemed entirely overbearing with how much you needed to do to get them up and running, particularly with RGB. While iCue hasn't been that bad for me, I've seen the horror stories across the internet with that software as well. That all said, these intrigued me. I was curious about the lighting and having purchased their light towers, had a reason to use iCue on my test bench. So I decided to give these a go right out of the gate, had reason to praise Corsair. Instead of requiring multiple pieces to get the RGB lighting to work, you only need the included Lighting Node Core, which allows up to 6 fans to be connected for the lighting. That then connects to your motherboard via an internal USB 2.0 header, and you're off and running. For the fan speed, you still need to connect them, but there's nothing proprietary there. I chose to use a three-way splitter and connect them to a 4-pin PWM header on my motherboard. Right off the bat, these fans look spectacular. The ability to not just change the outer ring, but the inner ring is great on its own, but you can go even further as they've divided the zones into front and back as well. This means you can really get crazy with the lighting effects and combos, which is something Corsair has done very well over the years. There are 34 total LED's per fan, which is just insane to think about. The fans themselves operate up to 1500RPM, which isn't the fastest by far, but will be good enough for most. They aren't terribly noisy for the most part, although they're noticeable at their highest speed, but then again, most fans are going to be noticeable when cranked all the way up. I had these on an AIO radiator and they performed just fine, keeping temps on an AMD 3600X pretty reasonable, even under a constant Cinebench load. In short, you won't notice any cooling changes switching to these, unless you always operate your fans at full blast and are coming from EK Vardar fans or something else that comes in at a higher speed. When these fans first launched, finding them for a decent price was impossible as they seemed to run anywhere from $130-150, which is very, very steep. Even at around $105-115, which is where they've been the last few months, they're still very expensive, especially when you consider some fans can be found for under $60 for a 3 pack. You're paying for the Corsair name, so how much that's worth to you will determine if these are a good value for you. Personally, I think if they're around $100 and you already have a healthy Corsair ecosystem, they can be worth it. I personally prefer Lian Li's Uni Fans, especially with how much cabling they remove from the equation and how light the software is to control them. All that said, they're beautiful fans that perform pretty well. If you don't mind the cost and are invested in Corsair's ecosystem, you'll be happy with these. Simply put, I've not seen fans that can compare in terms of how much you can do with the lighting, so how much that matters will determine if these are worth it to you. ... show more

  • Bright and beautiful
Color: Black Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
Definitely worth the purchase. Fans a quiet and bright. ICue is simple to use to change light patterns. Controller is plug and play. Downloaded icue and the controllers was easily found. Love the brightness and color patterns. Also love the light rings are on both sides, so I could get the flow I wanted while still being able to see the full effect. ... show more

  • Wonderful addition to a ique environment
Color: Black Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
Been debating on purchasing these for a year due to the premium price tag on them but now that I have I feel no regrets. They are well built, whisper quiet, are keeping my system cool, and look great. I replaced the front intake fans and these allow a light show be seen from the front and side window. Takes a bit to wire up but anyone who builds systems will expect it and have no problems getting these set up, just remember to install them all in the same orientation if you want rgb effects to run smoothly in a chain. The software runs smooth and you can setup multiple profiles, has great default patterns, can customize and download custom profiles from others easily. Plus can set up hardware patterns to run while the software is off during standby mode or if you just want to close out the ique software to free up a little more resources. Got the 3 pack with controller and since it can control up to 6 I will get 3 more fans for the liquid cooler as well. ... show more

  • BEST FANS ON THE MARKET PERIOD!
Color: Black Style: QL140 Single Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
READ THIS!!!! DONT PAY ATTENTION TO OTHER REVIEWS!!! I have been building Gaming PC's for over 15 years(Proof in the pudding)... I have used every product for cooling that you can think of from Noctua to Deepcool to Thermaltake to Cooler Master... Let me tell you, IF you want the best airflow for cooling, NOCTUA is the best HANDS DOWN! If you want the RGB and the cool look BUT want very good cooling, THESE ARE THE BEST!!. Ever heard of the expression "You get what you pay for?". Yes, these are pricey BUT corsair stands by there product and they are excellent. PLUS if you get the dual pack, it comes with the Lightning NODE and it is SOOOO EASY TO INSTALL. Take it from someone who knows and these things are quiet(even at high speeds) and they look beautiful. You will not regret paying extra for these babies! ... show more

  • Great but not perfect!
Color: Black Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
The media could not be loaded. Obviously if you've dealt with corsair fans you know how complicated the setup can be when you've got 20 wires running through your case. The fans are beautiful and they can run pretty quiet if you set them up properly. At max speed, they are pretty audible, but that is probably the case with most fans at max speed. Other than a few hiccups with 1 of the fans, I was able to them all setup in a few hours. My commander core gave me issues but amazon was able to ship me a replacement and I got my entire pc up in running after a 5 day building period. First ever custom build and I couldn't be happier. I wouldn't recommend these fans if you're looking for the easiest and neatest cable management, but they fan are a sight to behold. Little on the pricey side but I am expecting these to last for a while. I went with white so that I don't have to worry color problems with the individual led's. Time will tell. ... show more

  • they look great but are VERY loud
Color: Black Style: QL120 Triple Pattern Name: PWM Triple Fan
I've got a real Corsair ecosystem in my PC. these fans look great. far brighter than I expected. RGB function is consistent but... these fans struck me as significantly louder. I'm not using a DB meter or anything. I took out some LL120 fans as I had a couple with flickering LEDs and installed these. I had the fans all set to the "quiet" profile and when everything finally loaded and icue started up, I was thinking WTF? yeah. they were that much louder. ... show more
