  • Working as intended UPDATED
Style: MAG CoreLiquid 360R Size: 360mm
UPDATE #2 2/21/22: Don't buy MSI. I have been fighting for over a month about how my serial number is not able to be located when using the RMA system. Funny thing is it recognized it enough to put it in it in my registered product owned oh my profile. I just want my money back since I had to buy another (not MSI) liquid cooler. UPDATE1/17/22: So a two weeks ago I started hearing this cracking sound when I started it up like plastic hitting a fan randomly and was unable to pinpoint it. So I dusted out my case thinking something was off balance. This past week I noticed my CPU fans RPMs would start reeving randomly with just opening a webpage, no heavy load and the crackling sound was more often. Sure enough HWMonitor shows CPU temps were unstable and running pretty hot. I could also feel the the vibration with the sound in the hoses leading me to the conclusion the pump is broken. Trying to get a hold of MSI for warranty since I've only had it for 11 months. First time using water cooling in a computer. So far it has been awesome at keeping temps low. Very quiet, and pretty easy to install. Would recommend. ... show more

  • Horrible Fans and Customer Service - Failure Within 1 Hour of Use
Style: MAG CoreLiquid 360R Size: 360mm
The cooler looks great and wasn't too difficult to install. It worked perfectly for one hour and then the fans stop working. I unplugged the fan wire from the CPU spot on the Mobo and moved it to another fan location to see if that corrected it. The wire was warm to the touch but I didn't think much of it at the time. Even when moving to a different fan header location on the Mobo, the fans still did not work. I think plugged the fans directly into source power from the PSU using the supplied adapter. Once I did this two of the fans began spinning, and the third began to billow white smoke. I disconnected the smoking fan and used the two good fans hooked up to the CPU fan header on the Mobo. I submitted a RMA request to MSI and almost a month later I heard nothing back. I then contacted customer service via the online chat and explain the problem to them. They told me that the RMA email tells me how to return the product for replacement with shipping at my own cost. When I explained that I had yet to receive an email with direction, they terminated the chat. This is the last MSI product that I will ever buy. I ended up buying a three pack of RGB fans to replace these POS fans which come with the cooler. Buying new fans seemed easier than continuing trying to deal with MSI's horrible customer service and RMA process. ... show more

  • Capable Cooling System
Style: MAG CoreLiquid 360R Size: 360mm
The first thing to disclose is that I did not build a gaming machine, mine is designed for media creation. So it does not run full bore all the time, but it does have demand peaks in which the CPU quickly ramps in power consumption. Mine is cooling an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X CPU. These have a TDP of 105W, although I’ve not seen mine go above about 80W. Nominal power draw is typically about 50W at 37 C. With the MSI MAG 360mm radiator and AIO, I’ve not seen the CPU climb higher than 67 C, and that was during an Adobe After Effects process reconstructing pixel data on 4K at 60 FPS. Constructing the frames is different from displaying them, it’s an intense process. After Effects does not seem to make significant use of the GPU for this, so it’s a pretty demanding CPU function. Keeping the CPU below 70 C under demanding, heavy load is a pretty nice fete. And the fans - directly controlled by the motherboard CPU fan lead, keep a pretty steady, low speed during these evolutions. So the cooler has plenty of headroom left in reserve during some of the most intense CPU operations. Now, the 5950X has 16 cores, so a CPU with fewer cores working the same processes might see higher temperatures, but I expect this cooling solution will still keep up. The fans are quiet. I did spool them up as a test prior to installation and their noise was not too loud while my ears were only a foot away, so enclosed in a case at about 4 feet away should remain pretty quiet. The specs say these deliver up to 73 CFM, but MSI doesn’t discuss whether this is a cumulative value or an expected delivery from each individual fan. It’s a value that’s more typical for an Individual fan. The LEDs are pretty bright and vividly colored. The photo doesn’t really do this justice - but that’s the camera, not the fans. The MSI logo on the CPU water block has a really cool look while illuminated. I was not originally trying to build with much in the way of LED, but the case has an LED driver so I figured a few would be ok - and its actually easier to find LED AIO coolers than non-LED. This kit comes with three 120mm fans. These could conceivably be replaced with any 120mm fan kit, but that would only be for aesthetic reasoning. This kits includes the fans so these are the ones I went with. Mine has only been up and running for four days since the initial build, so if there are faults that surface I’ll revisit this review. As for now, I am happy with this system. It keeps the CPU thermally under control, it is well engineered, and was relatively easy to install (if you mount in the top of the case, do this part last or the fans might interfere with other component placement to the motherboard). I recommend the motherboard be lying flat to install cooling head on an AMD AM4 socket, otherwise one may be cursing gravity for an extended period of non-productivity. This kit does not include thermal paste. You’ll need that on hand as well. The LED connector is looking for a 5V supply so consider this if you intend to use the LEDs. ... show more
