  • Still a good card!
I was able to get this card for not much more than the cost of a 2070 Super, but a bit less than most 2080 Super's I saw going around at the time. It will be on display, vertically in my case, and I really disliked the look of how reflective the 20x0 Super cards are on the "bottom." It still performs ABOUT the same as a 2070 Super, so pretty relevant for today's titles of course. A 2070 Super is technically a better deal, being just a few frames lower, or in some cases higher, than this card for a little bit less but I was okay with the price difference for a certain aesthetic. ... show more

  • Could be a refurbished card.
So far the card has run ok. But it came in a box that was previously opened, retaped, card rewrapped, and overall felt like it was purchased from Fry's discounted bin. The package was disheveled enough that I am worried about this purchase.

  • Awesome Cards....Excellent Benchmarking and Game Play!
So I purchased 2 RTX 2080's (Founders Edition) and these cards run perfect! My build is: Asus ROG Strix X470-F Gaming Motherboard AMD Ryzen 2700X CPU @ 3.70GHz 32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM @ 3200MHz Dual 8GB NVIDIA RTX 2080 Graphics Cards in SLI! 32 Inch HP Omen Gaming Monitor 2560x1440 Resolution 75MHz Refresh Rate! 2 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD Drives Blu Ray Drive Corsair 850 Watt Power Supply This was the first Ryzen based Rig that I have built and it is wicked with the RTX 2080's in it! No stutter at all and the games all look great! So for the Naysayers hating on NVIDIA I say shut up or have AMD make a card that can keep up lol! -Ames Computer Repair ... show more

  • Nvidia needs an ethics check
Update: as more benchmarks arrive on DLSS (Deep Learning) - which is upscaling for 1440p to a very impressive 4K quality, with excellent efficiency - I have to change this review. I also recommend keeping your 1080ti card - unless you are interested in the VR technology that's on the way. ***There is still no good explanation for releasing technology with no software/games or benchmarks to boot - except for the greed and destruction that mining has created*** I'm bumping up from a 1070 to get ready for VR compatibility. Nvidia needs to be careful about their investments outside of the gaming/enthusiast community (IMO). Old review: Next time you turn your back on your most loyal customers (Gaming & Enthusiast) - will be the 'Silicon that broke the camels back'. Originally one star for lack of reviews, benchmarks, and customer loyalty ... show more

  • Good proof of concept? Still waiting for win 7.
I like the power, but I wish I had gone for the 5700xt. I sacrificed my freesync capabilities to play with raytracing, only to learn that I should have done more homework first. Raytracing doesn't work on a single title on windows 7, and having windows 10 on my gaming laptop...... I'm not willing to put that crap on my main rig. Microsoft is trying to make it easier for game developers to make windows 7 raytracing, but I'm thinking of selling this card for AMD's next flagship. Kinda disappointed in Nvidia right now. Now for another experience I had out of the box. I have a 1440p 144hz 1ms gaming monitor with strobing. You can NOT output that resolution from the card without going into global settings and enabling DSR scaling. No idea why...... It took me like a week and 4 dPort cables to figure it out. Never had these weird issues with my r9-390 Also if you get this turn off the nvidia overlay. ... show more
