    • The Mother of all Air Fryers
I recently received this "Nuwave Bravo XL Pro Air Fryer Toaster Oven with Grill Combo, 2024 New Ultra-Fast Convection System, 35% Crispier, 2X More Even, 142 Presets, 50-500F, Smarter Probe, PFAS Free, 30QT, Stainless Steel" and it has definitely been an upgrade in my kitchen. I've owned two other air fryers, but this is far and away the highest quality one I've used. It's essentially replaced my toaster oven, my smaller air fryer, and my conventional oven. It does take up a bit of room, but I knew that it was going to take up some countertop real estate (a very, very precious commodity in my kitchen), and ordered anyway. This oven is sitting on a heat protection mat on my conventional oven's cooktop. No, it's not an ideal setup, I admit, but I don't use the conventional oven at all now, so at least this placement makes some kind of logical sense, right? This oven is so much more advanced than just about any other small appliance I've used (in the kitchen at least). It has loads of preset options, and if you ever need ideas or want to find out a recipe for something, Nuwave's website has (an almost overwhelming amount of) recipes. The package includes everything you need to get started - even an internal meat thermometer to ensure meats are cooked thoroughly. I could probably go on and on about it, but you've probably already read about its features and just want to know why people love it or hate it, right? The love list: - I love that you can set this oven up as a dehydrator. If I ever decide I want to make my own beef jerky, this oven will let me do that. - I love that this oven makes frozen "fried" foods crispy - not almost-crispy, but *actually* crispy. - I love that I can use this oven to bake more efficiently than in the traditional oven, and that using the oven to reheat leftovers makes them taste almost as good as when they were fresh. Sure, it takes a bit longer than the microwave, but the food is legitimately GOOD afterward, and not all rubbery or strangely tough. - I love that the door is glass and I can see what's cooking. My very first air fryer was a similar setup, so when I got a smaller, basket style, air fryer that had no viewing pane, I kind of hated it. Took me a long time to get used to NOT seeing what the food was doing as it cooked, so I really like that this oven has a glass door. - I love that the company, Nuwave, is an established name in the area of home appliances since the 1990s, and not some clone manufacturer who simply slapped their branding onto some generic piece of equipment to call it their own. The not-love list: - There is very little about this oven that I don't like aside from the space it requires. Probably the one big one is that the outside does get very warm while the oven is in use. When I first began using mine, I kept my little silicone "claw" oven mitts stored on the oven door's handle. I was totally surprised when I reached my hand in to put them on and found they were scalding hot! It didn't burn me or anything, but I learned a valuable lesson about the exterior heat and adjusted where I store my oven mitts as a result, ha! On top of that, the heat from the exhaust is significant, so keep that in mind when placing it. For me, that's part of why mine now lives on the traditional oven's cooktop. I *know* I should probably not use it there, but I have no "extra" counterspace in the kitchen, and the only other reasonable location would also create a kind of "hot box" situation in the kitchen, so no. /shrug It is what it is. My personal tip: Try to not get overwhelmed by how much this fantastic little oven can do. It can do a LOT, and if you try to learn all of its ins and outs right away, you'll likely hit Information Overload status before you even get close to finishing. Start small and learn some of the basic functions, and then take some deeper dives. Hit the Nuwave website and browse recipes. Heck, even just going through the list of 140 presets is enough to keep a person busy with this device for weeks and weeks. I've been thoroughly impressed and completely satisfied with this awesome little multi-function oven, and I'm very, very happy to recommend it to others. ... show more

I got this to replace a regular toaster oven; I wasn't sure if I would like all the 'smart cooking' extras- but I do! I used this almost daily for 2 weeks so I could try out a lot of the different functions before I reviewed it. And I love it. Like, sometimes I give it little pats of affection. I love: + Nice generous size which allows for a lot of versatility in cooking. You can roast a whole chicken, and more. + Includes a mesh tray, a cooking rack, and a reversible grill pan/griddle - all of which are dishwasher safe. + Includes a meat thermometer for smart cooking. + 4 rack positions and adjustable heat zones allow for a lot of versatility in what you can make. + It does cook faster! You may have to play with cook times when you are making something you usually make in the oven. + VERY intuitive interface- and I am a boomer. I used it right out of the box. + 12 preset cooking functions (bake, broil, roast, toast, air fry, grill, more). + 100 pre-programmed recipe presets, or you can just set the time and temp yourself. Here are the things I have tried so far: Baking frozen appetizers (cooked faster, browned beautifully); baked a homemade quiche I usually make in the oven (cooked faster, browned beautifully), toasted bagels -from the top- and bread -with heat from top and bottom; roasted veggies (roasted faster than in the oven); air fried philly cheesesteak egg rolls (came out the same perfection as in my air fryer); grilled 4 burgers on the grill pan with the thermometer (came out perfectly cooked and super juicy, with a sear only somewhat less than stovetop cast iron sears); made their recipe for peach cobbler (preset #40) which came out delicious! BOTTOM LINE: This is seriously THE most versatile countertop oven I have ever used! It's easy to use and the presets make it easy to cook. Plus the pans are dishwasher safe.     • Nice looking oven but has Fan Noise after first heating cycle
The oven seems to be well built and looks great...... But the first time I ran it at around 400 degrees for 20 minutes and let it cool down.... the fan was making a loud noise the next time i started it up when cold. As the oven heated up to full temp the noise got less noticeable ...... But after letting it cool down again and starting it up cold again the vibrating/rattling sound was back and even louder than before. At that point I lowered the temp down to 50 degrees so it would stay cold and let the fan run for about 30 min. The Noise never got any better. A family member ordered the same oven when I ordered mine and had the exact same problem with the fan noise. So Nuwave definitely has a problem with their New and Improved Fans in the Bravo XL PRO ovens in my opinion. ... show more
