At first I was skeptical of the concept, but then I took a closer look and saw that it has high quality quartz heating elements, good electronic control functions, and good reviews. Now that I've used it for awhile, I'm more impressed than I thought I'd be. Ninja did a good job on the design concept (vertical toasting and horizontal broiling, baking, etc., saving space in my small apartment when in vertical mode) and with quality implementation of it. Works great as a normal vertical toaster for bagels or large sourdough slices and as a cheese sandwich maker or pizza slice warmer when in horizontal mode. I had been eyeing this for a MINUTE. And I was not disappointed! My god, is this thing space-efficient and so useful. It's great for 1 or 2 people, if you're dealing with feeding a family, maybe not. For me, it's perfect to reheat half a medium pizza, leftover salmon, etc. And the toaster fits two large slices of bread :) It converts from a toaster to a toaster oven and back with ease. The design is so clever, crumbs don't fly everywhere when you tilt it down or back up. It's so intuitive to use. The presets are perfect. The alarm is nice, not jarring. This is the best toaster oven I have found. Leaves lot of space on the counter and does the same as the other ovens even better. Cook bagel 2 minutes they turn off perfect not hard at all. Biscuits turn out perfect

After putting off buying the Ninja Flip Toaster in part due to the price I got an offer for a refurbished item at a decent savings so thought I'd try it. I was skeptical due to some of the other reviews. My main reason for trying one was reheating Pizza which I generally did not eat Pizza as a left-over, warming a slice in a Microwave usually resulted in soggy slice of Pie - "No thanks!" I now look forward to having a left-over slice of Pizza. The Ninja excelled at this task and makes it worth getting use to it's other shortfalls. It is also good for bagels and English Muffins. It's not bad overall as toaster it's just not great. First it's a bit big and little clunky especially using on a counter top with little space. We have no room for this and a regular toaster. The multitasker utility is a plus but it is not as convenient to use at it might seem, it has to be pulled out for every use. It's controls are not intuitive and there is a learning curve to it, in part due to its many options. Also beware when using it as a toaster oven it can get quite hot on the outside. It's no harder to clean than a regular toaster and so far the tray is fairly easy to clean, but cleaning any toaster is a bit of pain. As long as it holds up long term, it will be worth the rather hefty price. ... show more
