Ive been looking for a good blackout window shade for the double window in our bedroom. The window is 70" wide on the outside of the window frame, and I got the 73" curtain. The curtain itself is more like 72" but the mounting hardware reaches 73" across. They included a clear plastic measuring tape, which I taped up to help with installation. It was possible to install with one person, but would have been a bit easier with two. The included drywall anchors are a bit flimsy and the first one bent, but luckily I had a spare. We have tried eclipse curtains, in the past but white ones still let in light. I installed this roller shade and wow, it works. I've included a picture with the lights off, and with daylight outside you can see just the tiniest bit of light on the side. At night, you can't see any light coming in at all. I imagine that mounting it backwards so it rolls under and fits even closer to the wall would eliminate even that sliver of light, but I like the look as it is. I will say that the chain does not necessarily move the shade super smoothly. But, the window shade seems sturdy enough, especially for the price. I'll update if anything changes but I am quite happy with this for now. ... show more

Just got mine and was so excited to get to put up and there is no hardware. No way to put this thing up at all. No pull string. No end pieces. Very disappointed. One end was ripped open so it looks like they just mailed one that was already defective from the beginning. Sending it back for refund will do something else. UGH! I guess they have never heard of quality control. I saw some others say the same thing but there were a few positive reviews so I rolled the dice and lost. UPDATE: I did order another one because this was literally what I really needed due to the size and it came with ALL the pieces. I have had this up for a year now and it has worked perfectly. Darkens the room down to wonderfully as that window has full sun in the evening hours. The pull cord while it doesn't feel very strong it has worked for a year and that's with my young children pulling it up and down too. 1) blind was rolled the wrong way.. 2) instructions did say whether it could be unroll and roll the other way., 3) materials (specifically the plastic chain was cheap, likely unable to withstand even less than typical usage).. 4) I returned it immediately after opening it..

I seldom leave reviews, unless really impressed. Our blind was just installed, but I'm very hopeful. We have pull cord blinds in other areas of the house which are custom made. The feel of the materials used in the blackout blind feel substantial, and that it will hold up. Installing was very forgiving since the main rod, which the fabric is attached to, is actually wider than the blind material. This makes it very customizable. We used a hack saw to cut the thin main metal rod, which the end brackets go inside of on both ends, to the "exact" window width we needed. We purchased the 72 inch wide, and we only needed to cut the main rod one quarter inch shorter for the blind to snap into place. The prong on the left side plunges in nicely, and pops out into the hole in the bracket perfectly. If cutting the rod down in size, do a little at a time, and try to gradually get it to fit snuggly. We even turned our fabric around, since it's in an upstairs bedroom window, and we wanted to see the textured side in our room.
