  • Yep, after a little modification....it's a dandy!!!
Size: 20" x 10.1" x 0.9" Color: Black
We have lots of cast iron from several companies but I had never heard of Nutrichef before. (Was going to go with another brand that starts with "L"; (no not the word that means "big hunting cabin" but rather "hero of folklore" :)] Turns our that latter company and Nutrichef use the EXACT same images to promote what looks to be the exact same griddle. I'm not sure if either of them are the manufacturer or if both are rebranding this item....nonetheless, for the couple $$ savings I opted to take a chance and go with Nutrichef since they looked to be identical. Item arrived safe and sound and well packaged. It immediately went to the workshop where with multiple pads of 40 grit sandpaper on the random orbit sander and lots of elbow grease, I knocked off most of the pebbly texture on the flat side of the griddle. I used a couple finer grits to remove strike marks and was left with a greatly improved, albeit bare metal, surface. So it went into the oven at 350 for a few rounds of coconut oil seasoning and then another one or two at 400. Tested this puppy out 4 or 5 times already in the last 2 weeks all on an flat top electric range. After a learning curve on getting the elements at the right temp this thing worked like a charm!! So great for bacon, pancakes and grilled cheese. I have only used the flat side...and really hardly see using the other side, but could not be more pleased with this thing. It is a beast but if anything, if I had any complaint, it would be that it could be perhaps another 2" wider so one could make 6 decent sized pancakes at a time. That, however, would add considerable heft and probably retract from any advantage gained by the extra surface area... so, all in all as this is it is one great addition to my cast iron fetish and will certainly get lots of use!! ... show more

  • Real cast iron!
Size: 18" x 10" x 0.6" Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. I purchased a griddle like this one from another company only it was a stone enamel cast aluminum pan. I keep it because it was cheap and used it until the enamel chipped but it was advertised as cast iron. So most importantly this is real cast iron and it needs to be treated as such. Do wash it after you receive it and do season it yourself. I usually season my cast iron with different vegetable oils. I think I get a better varnish with a variety. I used grape seed as the first coat, then sunflower oil cause I had it, then grape seed again because I got confused as the bottle looked like my olive oil, which I used on the fourth coat. After that always give your cast iron a light coat of oil for whatever fits your dish that you're about to cook. I've cooked hamburgers on the grill side. It's been raining a lot so I didn't want to go outside. The grill worked like a charm. I used canola oil on a paper towel and brushed it on thin. While the hamburger might have not have stuck anyway because of it's fat content, I mixed in onions and other fillers that might have stuck before the fat could render out of the meat. On the griddle side I made pancakes, hash browns, eggs, and nothing stuck because I gave a light oil. So far my seasoning isn't glass smooth yet and I ripped my egg yokes trying to do over easy. I'll just have to use it more. It came with two silicone finger mittens. ... show more

  • Works with induction bridge
Size: 20" x 10.1" x 0.9" Color: Black
Heavy duty, quality griddle. It works with an induction stovetop bridge configuration, despite the fact that it does not lie flat on my stovetop. The only drawback is the risk of scratches to my glass top. And breakage, too, I suppose. This is super heavy. I wish it was lighter in construction. The edges are smooth, but still rough enough to scratch is slide around quickly. ... show more

  • Quality Cast Iron Griddle Model NCCIG64
Size: 20" x 10.1" x 0.9" Color: Black
This is a well made cast iron grill. It is heavy grade, though not unmanageable; pretty much what I was expecting and will probably last a lifetime. I use it on a gas stovetop and it cooks very well. The sidewalls and channels on both sides do a good job of capturing and containing any grease - including when cooking bacon. It also cleans up fairly easily. It is cast iron so you do have to treat it to maintain it but this is no different from the other cast iron cooking gear I own and use every day. If I had a complaint it would be that the casting grains are very sharp and shred anything I try to wipe it with but I expect this will be less of an issue as I use it more. Overall, this is highly recommended, a good size and weight, and it will get a lot of use. ... show more

  • Works well with Coleman propane stove
Size: 18" x 10" x 0.6" Color: Black
I bought this to take camping. It fits perfectly over my two-burner Coleman propane stove. The griddle side offer a lot more cook space for making a camp breakfast. It heats up evenly in a few minutes. I haven't used the grill side, but I look forward to trying that out too. A great addition to the camping kit. ... show more

  • UPDATED: Sadly not a "Quality cast iron griddle"
Size: 18" x 10" x 0.6" Color: Black
Griddle is sturdy and solid. Instructions for seasoning were easy to understand and follow. Cooking eggs this past weekend went smoothly. Following the recommendations to preheat and oil the griddle ensured the eggs did not stick. Look forward to using this often. UPDATE: After this first good experience, the second time we used it to try to make hash browns. Well into cooking we heard a loud pop and started to see the oil spreading on the cooktop under and around the griddle. The griddle just cracked. We contacted the OEM and, after 2 months finally received a replacement. The customer service was kind, although there was a language barrier for sure. The seasoning process was a novelty the first time - which eclipsed the fact that it wasted an entire day and filled the house with smoke from the oil. It was much more annoying the second time we had to do it. Today we tried to use the new one for the first time after seasoning it a couple weeks ago. While the griddle was preheating to make pancakes the new one cracked, worse than the first one. Cracks in cast iron are hard to see anyway, but especially in pictures. However, in the attached picture there is clearly an outline where the crack extends from the corner by the handle. The OEM refused to refund us the first time. I'm not interested in another replacement. It's past the Amazon refund period, but it's worth a try. ... show more
