We keep these in the freezer for my son and luckily they hold little to no smell or weird taste, and is able to provide that soothing effect he is looking for when he is fussy. Love the handles because it is easier for him to hold. My baby loves this teether! It is a super easy way to help soothe her gums. I will say as a 4 month old she does struggle a little bit with the handles: they are a little awkwardly big for her. The cooling affect wares off pretty fast but I always keep both in the freezer so once she’s done with one I could just grab the other but normally one does the trick for her.
