The ancient thermostat in my mother's house wouldn't respond to button presses after about 20 years. She's a very no-nonsense, no-frills, easy-to-use kind of person so I opted for the simplest, cheapest thermostat I could find. This one seemed to fit the bill with no programming. Just settings for Heat/Cool/Off and buttons for setting temperature. That's all she wants and needs. I've installed a few thermostats before so I knew what I was getting into and this one was just as easy as any others. The included screws and drywall anchors are almost literal garbage though. Use your own quality drywall anchors. The instructions are very sparse on details but there isn't much there that you really NEED to know anyway. Hook the wires up to the right pins and you're good-to-go. There is a switch on the back that could be easy to miss to switch between gas and electric heat, so make sure you get that in the right position. The buttons are nice and clicky which I always like. Mushy buttons are awful. If you need a cheap, non-programmable thermostat this one will probably do the trick. ... show more

I never heard of the brand but got home at 1 am and my old carrier tstat was broken, tried to fix it for about half hour to no avail. did a quick amazon search and liked this model for its simplicity and clean look. I don’t like all that fancy programmable stuff. placed the order around 2 am and with my Prime service it arrived a few hours later at 8 am. unbelievable. i had already removed the old one and the instructions were very easy. took about 10 minutes and AC was up and running. I like the large display which shows set temp and actual temp at same time. no need to push buttons, and the temp control is super easy up or down. I loved the price and the blue hue on my wall instead of some of the ugly brown or green hues that you see in the stores. I was able to install it myself in about 10 minutes after figuring out the wiring. I have to say that I am actually surprised at how easy it was to get set up and I definitely recommend it. I turned the switch to on, turned up the temp and whoosh, the wall heater came on like magic. I do not have air, just a wall heater connected to it and it works perfectly. ... show more
