  • Perfect One for One Trade Out Replacement
My teen son asked me to purchase these for one of his computers he built a few years ago. The k8nd he usually uses were on backorder at his regular providers website and he didn't have time to wait. There was no need for the fans with lights, etc. as this computer isn't made for that. He said they worked fine for taking out the old diff bran fan and installing these in its place. They've been performing well keeping items cool with both noise or hiccups so to say. The only issue found was something to do with the type of screws used to mount the fans but it was an easy fix per son. No major overall or tools needed other than the norm. So if he's happy then I am too since he requested it and ultimately paid for items. I just placed the order for him as he was unable to at the time. Normally uses his own Amazon account. ... show more

  • Bought as an additional fan
Added this to my NH-U12S for additional cooling in taming the 5900x's heat spikes, helped make the cooling equally aggressive and installation was easy. Color doesn't match but that's not important to me. Quiet fan with good performance.

  • Overrated. It hums, but it works well, and it's low-noise.
The quietness depends on the speed of the fan, which, in turns depends on how you set up the bios. At its lowest speed - whether in PWM mode or in DC - this fan is quieter but it produces an annoying hum. The hum is ever so slight, but, in a very quiet environment, it dominates the background noise made by three other fans: the CPU fan, the GPU fan and the fan in the power supply The three-pin steady-speed Antec Tri-speed that this Noctua replaced is at least as low-noise as the Noctua. It keeps the system at about the same temperature during days of non-gamer computer use. However, it produces no hum. I'm cured of the notion that a four-pin case fan with bios-regulated variable speed is better for every day computer use. In practice, my brand-new MSI board never drops the rpm of Noctua below 900 The Antec is steady at 1050 rpm. I should have followed the adage "let not the perfect be the enemy of the good..." Back to the 10-year old Antec. The one drop of machine-oil I added will let it to run smoothly for several more years. ... show more

  • Great fan!
The "premium fan" market nowadays is saturated with tons of rgb and powerful fans. If you want a high quality fan without the extra price and wires for rgb, then I go with Noctua. These fans are deadly silent when you're idle, and they are barely heard when under more load. On top of that, there's still great airflow in my case. I'm not gonna lie when I say that I haven't experienced the rest of what else is out there, but I'm not gonna spend double to find out. I can't hear these fans, and that's literally exactly what I need. (also, their grey color is better than the ugly brown that Noctua also has) ... show more

  • Quiet and high quality
Not much else to say other than these are quiet and high quality fans. I've used many of them in the past in a variety of projects and devices and they work extremely well. The 3 I purchased this time (120mm) were for a 360mm radiator in my PC. They replaced the RGB addressable fans that were quite loud and not very efficient. I swapped these in and while no colorful lights, they are much quieter and perform better than the stock Coolermaster fans that came with the AIO radiator system. ... show more

  • Quiet and smooth
Runs very quiet and tied into mother board fan controls easily. The air flow direction was easy to determine by the arrows on the side of the fan.

  • Using in a NAS
Using in a NAS which required some extra tweaking in the IPMI of the Supermicro motherboard, as Noctuas can go very low in PWM levels so it appeared as disconnected which is a fatal problem in a server motherboard. I have a few in a system cooling hard drives, and they keep em at around 35°C average, with a room temperature of 28°C on hot days. Which is great! As those drives should be keep around 40°C but never near 60°C. Of course noise levels are very low compared to the ones included in the NAS rack case. ... show more
