It is a gift, so I did ot use it. However, it appeared to be exactly what I wanted for a beginner wood designer. I also bought a package of wood shapes to allow for practicing.

This product was a huge disappointment. It did not work. Directions for changing tips were non existent. I love buying from Amazon but this was a huge disappointment. I was counting on this because I had gifts and orders I needed to get done. It never heated up. It was a waste of money and now more time spent trying to return it. ... show more

So far so good. Seems a little flimsy at the tip where the different tools screw in, when it gets hot enough to burn the wood. I'm a newby, so I'm using REALLY thin, cheap wood ...don't know how it will do on hard wood...we will see. This is what it looks like after these two small projects 🧐

This wood burning tool is great and easy to use. I have never used a tool like this it is my first time using one and I found that it is just like using a pen or marker. I used it to try making some monthly milestone signs for my grandchild due in January. It wasn't as hard as I thought.
