    • Awesome for gluten free waffles, after proper cleaning to remove chemical taste.
Once you get it cleaned this thing is awesome. It is so easy to use and clean up when finished and it stores nicely. Id suggest when done wipe it down and placea plastic bag over it to keep dust out then store on the fridge or somewhere. Its compact and stores easily but doeant lose any functionality. Each waffle mix will take one or two to figure out which setting to use to get the best results. I typically use any Gluten free box recipe out of the store then just water it down to proper consistency. cookies, muffins.. and even the occasional pancake mix. Some of the thicker moister mixes may need a manual timer to be set after it says its done to keep cooking it through, or microwave to finish cooking the insides. For basic pancake mixes it is great, for moist cake and muffin mixes add 5-10 mins to finish cooking it out or just throw in microwave. Main con is it took a while to completely get the chemical taste out. id suggest scrub it out (cold) with a toothbrush and dish soap twice with 20 min max temp bakes before both sessions. spray some cooking grease in there to soak up some of the chemical for the bake sessions. or be ready to use a cheap mix to keep throwing away waffles till the taste is gone. I think even with scrubbing and baking outlined above we had to waste two entire mixes before the taste was such that only one of us could detect it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Our waffle maker we’ve had for 12 years has been on its last leg for some time. I scoffed at the concept of a vertical waffle iron when I first saw it because there’s obviously no way that could work. But then I saw ninja was the brand. I thought about it for several weeks and when it went on sale decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. Most perfect waffles I’ve ever made. So tall and fluffy. Every waffle is uniformly perfect. No overspill. And virtually no cleanup of the waffle iron either. It’s a genius design. Well worth every penny for as much we love breakfast food and as often as we make waffles. ... show more

I love love love! My Ninja Waffle maker- the first one was absolutely perfect and the experience was super easy! I am so glad I didn’t buy the model I was considering @$169.00. I love that this unit takes up very little kitchen space! I am so sooo pleased color perfect, thickness perfect, consistency perfect!!! I have yet to use this, but every other time I have bought used the packaging may be beat up, but the item is ready to go. This time the wafflemaker arrived and has definitely been used. There was still waffle mix all over. It really had not been cleaned. I spent about 45 minutes cleaning it and getting the crevices cleaned out. Never have I experienced this. I will update later upon using, but seeing as how there was waffle mix all over, I am concerned this thing may leak, so we shall see. I'll update in the next week or so. Update: Amazon warehouse absolutely failed in their selling of a used item and sending me a dirty Ninja. HOWEVER, this thing cooks as advertised. Nice big, fluffy waffles with a dummy proof system. The human factors engineering failure is the ease of which it is to spill batter on the back side using the measuring cup. So pouring a cup full (fill batter to the line) and dripping some on the outside is a real likelihood. It's also hard to clean off the outside. Inside is very non-stick and the waffles fall right out when you open it. The thing heats up quick and is ready to go faster than expected. Inside it does not leak, it cooks great. Waffles take 2-3 min to cook. I found I like setting 1-2, 2 got darker than I like a few times. Worth the purchase. ... show more

    • Sooooo easy! Perfect waffles!
I glanced at the how to step-by-step booklet, made the batter, perfect waffles! I used Pamela's Baking Mix waffle recipe on the package (without the patience to fully whip the egg whites as it called for, which didn't matter). The Ninja and Pamela's made crispy on the outside, softish on the inside (just how we like them) perfect waffles (setting 4). I like that it beeps when done, and that it's not an ear piercing beep like some appliances seem to come with these days. I like that the cord was long enough to easily reach the side of my island's electrical outlet with the waffle maker without having to sit too near the end. The NeverStick non stick coating is a nice hardened finish that looks like it will wear well. The Ninja site says they warranty it for 10 years not to "stick, chip, or flake when used as directed". I love that its free of PFOA and PFAS. Lastly, the size is just right. I'd rather wait the few minutes between waffles than have one of those huge $200+ monsters that makes more waffles at once.
