We have been using this little guy almost everyday for smoothies and almond milk, almost 6 months now. At this point we have really gotten our money's worth. I'd say we are heavy users. It works beautifully still to this day and no dull blades yet, but overall, the containers (mostly) and blades are already showing some wear. It is powerful and loud as any blender with 1000 watts. Crushes ice, fruits, nuts, and vegetables in a breeze. Pushing and holding the blender's container down is easy. You push to pulse 2-3 times to break up the large pieces so not to cause damage to the blade or unit and hold continuously thereafter about 30-40 seconds (or longer if you choose) to get a great smoothie. So far we are happy with our purchase. The way we use our machine, I'd say we may need to replace the containers soon. I would recommend to those looking for a smaller unit to make quick smoothies on the go. It doesn't replace a full size blender, nor a food processor as it is an extractor, not a blender, but, it can still do a lot. You can create many things such as sauces, soups, juices, nut milks, smoothies, frozen drinks, etc. It comes with a good size recipe book with some great inspirational ideas to get started. We use our unit specifically for smoothies on the go and producing almond milk. The clean up is a breeze, especially for those busy mornings. A very handy, useful product. So far, it has made our lives healthier and just a little bit easier in some aspects. Worth a try. ==> UPDATE 2020: It's been about 5 years since my purchase, and it is still going strong! We love it for its ease and convenience! We haven't had any issues at all. We use it quite a bit. The only wear and tear we noticed is the interior of the containers and the blade surface. I purchase this to replace a Magic Bullet blender that burnt out. This device is a definite step up from the previous and blends with immense power! Pros: - Much more sturdy. - Lots of power - Comes with variety of cups and sizes - Easy to clean Cons: - Very loud. - Cup lids and blender lid are easy to cross-thread and require some care when attaching. They have not had any damage from doing so though. Other: - I used this primarily for smoothies with frozen fruit and ice. It blends up these harsh ingredients quite nicely with minimal effort. I received this NINJA blender today and already made some salsa and a small green juice. Wow, this little NINJA is the bomb! Now I can get my greens easy and quick and I will drink them because I make them taste really good. Some spinach, kale, an apple, a few grapes a mint leaf and a few pulses and whoa mamma, wow super juice pumping me up with nutrition my body craves, wow! Now I feel like the king of the world! Thanks NINJA!! This NINJA blender is amazingly compact and light, I can easily lift it to a high shelf and store it, light and small but very powerful blender. Very easy to clean, some hot soapy water, rinse well and be really careful with the blades, don't plug in the blender until you are ready to blend and unplug immediately when finished. All parts are extremely high quality, heavy duty, military grade and indestructible. How did I live my life without a NINJA blender for all these years???
