  • Works perfectly with my Tamron 15-30 G1 as well as other non-Nikon lenses!
Color: Black
Just purchased a z 6II/24-70mmF4/FTZ bundle from Amazon. With all of the negative reviews of some Tamron lenses not working well or at all with the FTZ, I will state that this is working perfectly with my discontinued Tamron 15-30mm G1 lens. The G has been a coin toss if it'll work with FTZs and part of that is that the G1s had different versions of firmware installed based on when they were manufactured. The issues of compatibility for my Tamron G1 15-30mm lens and combo as said, seems more about when the lens was manufactured (mine was a very late model purchased just before Tamron discontinued this version) but also, the camera model (with latest firmware installed) that the FTZ is mounted to. Why I can not state exact specifics of why this combo works perfectly (to my great relief), I do think that compatibility is partly due to the lens beng used of course, but, also the Z model and firmware version for the Z and FTZ as well. My FTZ was just manufactured this year and had the latest firmware (1/2021) already installed. So, for those who do not want to give up their favorite F lenses and be forced to spend a lot more $ on new replacement lenses, this is truly good news. In fact, I also own two cheapie Yongnuo lenses (sold at amazon), ...a 35mm and 50mm that perform very well optically and yes, they as well both function perfectly on the FTZ/ 6II combo! AF and A-exposure are fast and exposures are right on for all lenses I used on the new FTZ. I also own the Nikon 24-120mm f4 and the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens with Sigma UD-01 dock and as of yet have not tried it out on this new 6II/FTZ pkg, but, all reviews as well as many FTZ forums all state these lenses work perfectly on the FTZ with older and newer Z versions so I'm not worried there at all and will try them out soon. In shooting perhaps 100 shots on my F mounts lenses, every one performed flawlessly as they do on my D850. Big relief here because had I experienced any lens issues using the FTZ, this bundle would have been returned. I'll be writing a review on the Z 6II soon once I have some experience of use with it. So for the time being, I can state that the FTZ and my new Z 6II will work seamlessly with my other lenses. Having read in many forums that the Nikkor 24-120mm F4 and my big Sigma 150-600 Tele zoom also work fine, I have to say, no issues here once-so-ever with compatibility at all! (big sigh of relief!). My 6II/FTZ bundle will be a keeper for certain! ... show more

  • Get this when you buy your new Nikon
Color: Black
This is the adapter to adapt old Nikon lenses to new Nikon bodies. When you buy a new Nikon camera, Nikon sells the adapter for $99. That deal exists all the time and works on all websites. People paying $250 for this thing are doing it in the most unfortunately wrong way. No offense but it's best to buy this when you buy the camera. Pros 1. Works with my Sigma 17-50 F2.8 without any issues. I used it for years on my D5200 and the image quality on my Z6 II with this adapter is noticeably better (better color etc) so I don't think it negatively affects image quality. 2. My lens fit on the adapter firmly without any grinding or wobble. I guess some people have had issues with this but I haven't. 3. Doesn't add much weight to the camera. 4. Tripod mount on the bottom of the thing works well. Cons 1. There's really nothing to this. Some electronic contacts. There's no glass in this. No idea why this costs as much as it does. 2. Doesn't work with all lenses and the list is confusing for folks like me who haven't kept up with Nikon lenses for the last 40 years lol. Google it before you buy to make sure yours works so you're not left with an expensive surprise. Overall, I'm glad I bought this thing with my camera. The reduction in price makes this easier to swallow and puts it in line with competitors. It works well and makes my lens work well. Plus, it gives me access to older Nikon lenses until Z mount stuff gets a little more varied and a little cheaper. Recommended. ... show more

  • Enables Nikon F Mount Lenses to Work With the Z Cameras
Color: Black
If you have a large collection of F mount lenses, or wish to supplement your Z lens collection with F mount lenses, this works perfectly. I have not noticed any issues, and it makes the F mount lenses feel as if they were native lenses for the Z cameras. It seems a bit expensive for what it is, but sometime you may be able to pick one up at a discount when you purchase a Z camera. Overall, it is worth having. ... show more

  • Works well
Color: Black
Works well so far with all my FX lenses, including an older Tokina lens. Sold all my cheap Z "kit lenses" that came with my Z50 and don't miss them one bit. Believe my FX lenses (that I use with my D810) are superior lenses so might as well put them to use. Only downside to those lenses are that they're bigger and heavier but I'm already used to them and it's not bothersome for me. Besides, all my lenses will still be useful if/when I move up to Z full frame. Nikon is not going to spend more resources developing new Z DX lenses so forget about them. If you have a lot of FX lenses, get this adapter ( cheaper used one - there isn't reason to buy new or version 2). ... show more

  • Perfect for most F-mount lenses
Color: Black
I purchased the FTZ adapter so that I would not have to reinvest in new lenses when I switched to a mirrorless camera. This mount enabled me to use all of my old F-mount Nikon and Tamron glass with the Z50. I did have to upgrade the firmware in the Tamron lenses before they would work, but all of my old lenses now work perfectly. I highly recommend purchasing this FTZ adapter with a camera body! The stand-alone price is way too high, but you get an incredible deal for purchasing with a new body. ... show more

I just purchased my first Nikon mirrorless with 50 years of old Nikon glass. It does what it is supposed to do. Yay.

  • Older Gen lens meets new body
Color: Black
I take photos here and there, maybe due to convention activities or nature shots. But, it was time to update my camera system after getting into the hobby about 5 years ago. I happen to get the Nikon Z50 but had some lenses that was not going to make the cut. And I didn’t necessarily want to start all over again, hence why I stuck to Nikon when going mirrorless. That’s where this FTZ Mount comes in. I gotta say, I was through-fully impressed by it. If needed be, I can use my older prime lenses such as the 35mm or 50mm lens with autofocus working as well. This mount is recommended on those who have non-mirrorless Nikon lens that could benefit for having its full functionality back. ... show more
